2019/20 Andre Gomes

No one can defend that tackle, the speed he goes through the back of him, its a sly tackle the bad tit.

But son was crying mate so let's all rub his belly for him

He obviously didn't mean to injure gomes but the tackle was in frustration to gomes arm on his face, thus could have been avoided

So son can eat a big fat bowl of turd. All the messing around over him is pathetic

A fracture is a break mate. The dislocation comes about as the ankle is no longer part of the tibia or fibula. The whole body weight has turned his ankle/leg in the wrong way. Puts everything out of kilter. Plus the ligament damage will be massive.
According to Google at best its 8 odd weeks to heal and a few months more to regain normal functions, obv that depends on the severity and if surgery was required but by what I've read if we're lucky he could be back for the seasons end. Like u say though depends on if there was further ligament damage etc. Guess the club will let us know further soon.

Our players have made plenty of tackles that have been just as bad if not worse (in fact Andre has been guilty of a few dirty challenges). It’s part of the game

Yes that’s true, players act out all the time, but everyone coming out and standing in solidarity with Son and absolving him of any wrong doing just isn’t right. He’s deliberately gone in on him in anger and unfortunately his actions have had severe consequences.

To be back playing at that level it'll be at least 6 months mate. He might be able to train to a semi high intensity before may but I'd be utterly astonished if he plays again this season. The ligament damage is severe in these instances. The image of his foot in the position it was tells me for him it was as bad as it could be. Hope I'm wrong. @BrendanGOT (made a mess of my reply)

I would be surprised to see him this season and pre-season may even be a push too. Not that I'm a doctor or anything, just based on similar injuries that I have seen and often it's a good year before they come back. And if we look at Coleman, although he doesn't appear scared, he doesn't quite seem to be the same player he was before it happened.

It was a nasty one I’ll give you that. BUT, it was a freak accident and Son definitely wasn’t attempting a leg breaking tackle. I can forgive him. I’m pissed at him, but it wasn’t a Neil Taylor special.

Terrible injury, if he was a player whose game relied on pace or tough tackling, I don’t think he would ever be the same player, but, with the type of role Andre plays, he may well make a full recovery. It will be the best part of a year before we see him back though.
As for Son, I don’t believe that he intended to cause that level of an injury, but, his “challenge” was, at best, reckless so let’s not make him out to be the victim here. Bottom line, if he hadn’t made that challenge, Andre Gomes would not be lying in a hospital bed at the moment.

He was intending to cause harm to Gomes though. Son waited, out of position, for Gomes. The first act he does after the previous incident between them is to lunge in wildly when the ball is gone, not attempting to win the ball, and to take out Gomes. I see no other conclusion that son was going in to hurt Gomes. Maybe not snap his ankle, but certainly to hurt him. Therefore, I don’t forgive him.

The most similar injury in recent times to a sportsperson is Gordon Hayward in the NBA.
Injured in October 2017, needed a second surgery (hopefully Andre won’t) in March 2018 & started playing again October 2018. That was dislocated ankle but also fractured tibia

Oh without a doubt Son had no intention of breaking his leg, what kind of psycho would. Just this whole outpouring of people saying Son isn’t to blame is wrong. He’s knowingly gone in on him as an act of “revenge”. I feel bad for Son that he’s caused it, but I feel ten times worse for Gomes.

A fracture would be bad enough, but fracture and dislocation is probably the worst that could of happened.

I agree with most of this. But I do not feel one bit sorry for son. He went to foul Gomes. He did not know the outcome. But he wanted to foul him so he took the risk

Understandable. Yeah the Son brigade is very weird
