New day, but still feels awful this. Really hope he comes back from this. Horrible.

Not sure if been mentioned, but does this potentially bring Anthony Gordon into the fold?

May be in the minority and I’m not a controversial poster but I do think Son went to do him, not to the extent but afterwards he knew he’d then gone over the top. You could see the challenge coming a mile off and he had no way of getting the ball so I don’t buy this sympathy lark
I think you’re right in terms of wanting to do him. Do I think he went with the intentions of snapping bones no I don’t. I think the Aurier challenge was naughty as well he was already flying him and Gomes had his foot planted which guarantees serious injury. Let’s just hope his mentality isn’t going to ruin his career as it’s been bad in the past

Probably the fact that Son was so distraught was because he realised it was a needless revenge tackle. As posted above he's been guilty of petulantly lashing out in the past. He probably won't be again in future.

I’m with you mate , was saying this to people yesterday. Son certainly didn’t intend the end result but he wanted to leave something on him a

No doubt Son went in to bring him down. However, he is a professional player who often tackles from behind and gets reprimanded for a reason, he has not taken the hint and his reckless way he goes into players has now resulted Gomes having discolated and fractured ankle, I have no sympathy for Son.

I posted similar in the match thread mate. I'll accept he didn't intend to injure as he did, but the challenge was malicious and pre meditated.

Son 100% deserved the red card. I have no doubt that he did not mean to cause such an injury to Gomes but the very nature of the injury changes the challenge from “professional foul” to “endangering an opponent”
