However, as others have pointed out, despite being an absolute liability in some areas, he is actually very good at others, which sometimes is forgotten. As such, it is very appropriate to have him as a bench option to do a specific job.

Composed on the ball and can pick a pass. Despite comments to the contrary on here, I've seen him use his body very effectively to protect the ball.

I think he is sometimes ok getting chucked on later on in games when the opposition is tired and there is more space

The problem though is that we aren't a side that can cover for his obvious deficiencies. We are a side that needs all 11 giving their all, all the time.
Gomes could be useful in a situation where we owned the ball 75% of the time and he had a great DM playing behind him when the odd man break invariably occurs.
Since we're allergic to the ball, it would be a disaster with him out there now.
People are focusing far too much on his football ability and whether he can play Dyche ball, but completely overlooking his great hair. Sad times.

He's composed on the ball to the point he's repeatedly caught on it. He can pick a pass but barely has any assists to his name before or after the injury
He's a complete myth. People seem keen to judge him on the handful of very good games. They seem to see flashes of genuine ability and call him inconsistent when the truth is he's very consistently poor.
