Contract up at the end of the season so puts in an effort to try and wangle a new one. He’s not the first to do that but it’ll take an awful lot more to convince me. He’s done nothing for years

Next to no chance he's getting a new contract here so wouldn't worry about that.

Dyche has a knack for getting the best out of players, Gomes will be no different.

i wouldn’t trust him with a new deal but he can give us something, especially playing further up the pitch. He’s actually somebody who can ‘put Beto in’ behind central defenders.

I think I'd be a better option than Davies.

We know his limitations, we know his strengths. Dyche will put him in the right role.

Horses for courses mate. I honestly think based on today we can hold our own against anyone and we need different types of players for different scenarios. I was wondering why he didn’t play Danjuma when Gana got injured but it was brave of Dyche playing Gomes when we were 2-0 down. People maybe thought we were waving the white flag but a good portion of the game we were better than them they haven’t had such a difficult game at home all season. The Villa and Wedt Ham losses were were smash and grab. Dyche is proving a lot of doubters wrong in my opinion. I also thought after slow start Mykolenko and Garner were outstanding.

I dont think we disagree sheeds, we are a pretty competitive side at the moment, if we either had some better luck finishing, or got the VAR/reffing breaks that the sly 6 get then we'd be proper flying

Only issue with Gomes is his £100k a week wages.

he's had a few games where he has been superb but unfortunately not often enough

Hasn't he had a two year holiday? Any fresher and it'd have to be his birthday...

it was a wide open game so that helped him find some good passes, really opened them up but he wont get that luxury in many games.

Managed to pass to feet and great balls into space.

When was the last time we have a player in that role that did this?

Lille seems to have been a god send and Dyche is ofc doing his usual. Imagine a midfield of Onana, Andre and Doucs. Onana at the base doing the dirty tackles, Andre provides the class and Doucs doing the hard miles
