If you play Gomes and see him wave a leg or push players over hes a liability.

He cant run and only shows up 1 in 10 games.

If you sell him you save and generate £8mil.

We have: Onana, Garner, Gana, Onyango and Doucoure who could play deeper short term if needed.

To me, theres no logic to keep a £120k a week player when you can push him out for £8mil with a contract expiring in 9months.

…thought he looked decent coming off the bench to play an advanced position a few times. He might actually unlock Beto who looks like he’ll be reliant on passes played down the sides of CBs.

it could be argued that he’s a better squad player than Davies, so a slight improvement if he stays.

He’s more naturally talented than all of those. He’s a good player to bring off the bench when we need to keep hold of the ball.

Like I said earlier, if he was good enough for Lille he’s good enough for Everton.

You also need to keep your eye on the number of contracts expiring next summer and 2025 + the amounts required to replace them. Both in fees and wages.

If we sold Gomes and Gray next week and did generate the £20mil + saved fees of e.g £120k a week Gomes and £60k Gray then these are large amounts to put towards the 2024 replacements.

I think sales are a necessity to hold onto our best players and extend contracts as well as replace outgoing dross.

Can you imagine all honesty see him in a Dyche team ? The thought is laughable.
If say Potter was manager yes I could see him.want to try to accommodate him.

If he's staying we should get him on a brutal fitness regime. Physically sick after every session.

And be saying to him you've got one year left, earn your wages + show some commitment to the club.

He might not play much but if he does, he's physically ready to compete.

Until I heard Betos interview I thought that Gomes would be a vastly overpaid interpreter, but we don't even need him for that.
Betos English is excellent.

I’d rather concentrate on staying in the PL this season tbh as it’s going to be a struggle.

Think he still might go to Saudi with Gray, he’s crap like but it would be another body out the squad.

Maybe Dyche will have to play some of the kids when the inevitable injuries hit us.
