All about getting as much money for an asset as possible. Gordon worth more with a 5 year contract than a shorter one, looking after the club not just the player

5 year deals spread the cost over the duration which is why we hand them out all the time. We can’t afford that cost to be divided by 3 rather than 5.

Maybe I'm imagining it, but to me Gordon in his last few appearances it looks like he's already into the square and backward passing thing.

That's down to a lack of movement in the team. Better players will result in more ambitious passing.

Great news - one of the few positives to come out of last season. If he's encouraged to play positively, I think he'll develop into a pretty decent player.
