That lot are flakey.

This lad is a straight arrow from Kirkdale and a dyed in the wool Evertonian with bags of talent and commitment.

He will be a PL regular for years...at the very least.

Anyone who doesn't recognise that on the evidence so far should take up knitting.
He has talent, no doubt. He seems to have the attitude. These are good signs. I like what I see. Top-level-footy-player is a fragile state of affairs, though. It seems to be nearly as mentally demanding as golf, and those guys flash-in-the-pan all the time.

Wouldn't take up knitting for purposes of solidarity in all those years of marriage. Not about to start now.

What's interesting about Gordon is that despite his obvious talent and his leap in productivity for Everton this year, I'm not at all clear on what his best position is. Has looked promising as a chalk-on-the-boots type winger, a Richarlison type cutting in from wide, and even a playmaker type role carrying the ball a bit from deep and knitting play together.

His coaching over the next couple of years is going to be vital to the player he turns out to be. Let's hope we've found a bit of nouse and stability in our coaching for once, because this kid could be something special.

Great players tend to be able to play all along the front when required. I don’t think his position matters so much as his production and chemistry with the squad which he seems to be building. You can tell he put the work in to get where he is now which is the sign of a player that wants it versus a player that sits on his talent.

He’s an exciting talent but I don’t know that you can develop a goal scoring instinct.

This will prevent him from being an elite player.
You may be right but i would counter that by suggesting we haven’t seen nearly enough of him to definitively say he doesn’t have them. Conviction in every aspect of a players game bring these aspects out of them. Conviction and confidence to take up certain positions and to ultimately take chances. He looks like he’s starting to believe he should be a starter, the next steps will be fascinating to observe. I’m certainly rooting for him

He was a goal scorer as a junior; 15 & 5 from 22 u18's, with a less impressive 7 & 4 from 24 u23's. Scored some cracking long range ones as well.
The Instinct is already there, he just needs (and is starting to) believe he deserves his spot and the right to take on opportunities.
Some less selfish, and better combination, play from the other attacking players will certainly help as well.

This lad will kick on again under Lampard he will be given freedom to express himself and pick pockets and create and score
Love the way he drifts into the centre of the pitch, hopefully we can get players who will find him, because he looks just as dangerous central 40yards out. With he good first touch and his ability to play a through pass or a quick one two
