The lad is still a few weeks away from his 21st birthday remember. He's going to keep getting better for the next 3 or 4 years if he keeps working hard.

Seems to have the work ethic and the determination to make it which is the main thing. The lad is still a few weeks away from his 21st birthday remember. He's going to keep getting better for the next 3 or 4 years if he keeps working hard.
Playing well, small sample size. It took DCL a while in top form to convince me, not least because he was always streaky. Still is. Scores in bunches, then goes missing for a few games.I really dont think people are appreciating what we have in Gordon.
Go and take a look at the face on Lampard when he was asked about him - he's 'kin beaming because he knows he's inherited a knocker to become a Premier League great.
Usually I’d agree but Lampard himself was an exception. He’s an exciting talent but I don’t know that you can develop a goal scoring instinct.
This will prevent him from being an elite player.
He is way beyond DCL. DCL is football by numbers. Theres no hint of guile there, let alone genius. Gordon has that little bit of sparkle that makes him special.Playing well, small sample size. We have a young talent who is doing very well on the ball and covers a lot of ground. He may develop into a legend. He may not.
It's way too soon to tell. Ronaldinho flamed out, as did Gazza. Torres got hurt, lost his speed and never recovered. Lord only knows what happened to Michael Owen.
Then there's the comparative late-bloomers like Vardy and Salah, and the really weird ones like Pogba where a particular badge seems to be kryptonite. Footy is a strange game.
Lampard turning into a goal machine coincides neatly with Chelsea starting to spend big. Better surrounding players -> more space and better incoming passes -> more opportunities to net.Usually I’d agree but Lampard himself was an exception.
Think that certainly helps but it also seemed that he got better and better at knowing where the ball would be around the box and his finishing was exceptional. Anthony will get to the point where he scores double figures a season I’m sure.Lampard turning into a goal machine coincides neatly with Chelsea starting to spend big. In general, if you're kicking in de Bruyne goal tallies along with the assists year after year, you're doing wonderfully from a wing/playmaker role.

Those that understand football called this early: Gordon is a PL player and will be one of our better ones...perhaps one of our best.
Hows the Ormskirk Ozil getting on?Remember your view on VVD when he was at Celtic: "He's utter turd. He'll be a flop at Southampton"...or words to that effect.
You cant see talent when it's in front of you.
I'm comparing him to DCL in the sense that i need to see more games before I call it more than a purple patch. It took me a while on DCL because he was nothing more than a athletic raw talent for a good bit. It won't take me as long on Gordon, because he always was a player that needed a shot and finally got one.He is way beyond DCL. DCL is football by numbers. I'm not claiming he's Rooney-good; but he's defo getting good enough to get into any elite team in this country.
People need to wake up to this lad's level of talent. To compare him with Delli 'kin Alli is an insult.
That lot are flakey.I'm comparing him to DCL in the sense that i need to see more games before I call it more than a purple patch. I'm comparing him to Alli in the sense that Alli had quite the purple patch, then turned into a pumpkin.
For all we know, he'll develop Balotelli's attitude or Mason Greenwood's off-pitch problems. Let's not pile the expectations on just yet. Let's just enjoy the way he's playing footy right now.
