2021/22 Anthony Gordon

He’s the same as Iwobi but with more heart. Runs around a lot but offers very little. We can’t defend and don’t create. It’s why we are where we are.
His end product and decision making need to improve but he has one thing Iwobi doesn’t which is that ridiculous burst of pace. The way he got away from Keita before being wiped out by TAA, I haven’t seen an Everton player move like that since Aaron Lennon who was freakishly fast.

With that kind of raw pace he reminds me of Bale when he was starting to break through where he has a lot still to work on as a footballer but can create chances just by running.

I’ll have that’s he quick mate, but as we have seen today, he gets past his man and either runs it out of play or does nothing with it.

Or wins dangerous free kicks too mate.
Totally agree though, end product is not good enough yet but he’s a kid and this is something he can get better at, rather than a raw attribute like pace which he’s just been blessed with.

What a masterstroke it was to move Gordon, when he was very effective operating on the left to the other wing. Words fail me sometimes. FL did a similarly stupid thing v Burnley. Took the lad off when he was having a barnstormer.

Worth pointing out that he’s 21 like.

I weren’t too convinced last season, but I’ve seen enough over the past few months that he has enough raw ingredients and the work ethic to become a very good footballer.

Nobody’s claiming he’s a generational talent, but some fans seem to work in extremes and you’re either one of the best young players in the world, or your league 2 standard.

You're right. I love Gordon but don't see him as being top tier. Just nice to have a talented local lad giving his all for the club he loves. If he goes on to have a career similar to Osman then that'll do for us.

I was disappointed with his finish today and another one where he ran down a blind alley but what he shown for all to see today was that direct pace and running he has. He hasn't really shown that quality of his in the 1st team but he showed it in spades today.

Showed what a bang average full back Armold was.

Keep it up kid, still time to be the hero this season I reckon.

This lad will save us scouse evertonian ,he will do it I know it's on keep the faith bag of nerves me ffs

I think he'll be one of the first to have offers coming in for him.

End product isn't there yet, but his touch and close control have improved massively, and he really is lightning across the grass.

Anyone who can't see the quality he has must be watching a different player. Pace, dribbling, good engine, good attitude. Yes he needs to work on his end product, but who doesn't at his age. If the rest played like him, we'd be nowhere near the relegation places.

He cost us 3 points today, potentially.

I like the lad, but that's unforgivable in a relegation battle.

If he hadn't got that card for diving, he'd have got the penalty. But sadly, once you dive in a game, the referee sees every subsequent event as a dive, whether it was or not.

That penalty could've been crucial. We could've nicked a point or even three.

Sod off lad.

That was very strange, I’m sure Richy could have gone on the right, Gordon had them worried that threat went instantly when he was moved, Gordon and Mykolenko are work very good on the left

I think if we go down, he will stay until we come back up again. I may be wrong, just a feeling. But I know I won't be blaming him or his 110% every game for us going down should it happen
