Yes, he's not exactly Arjen Robben when it comes to converting, but his touch, close control and genuine, defender-scaring electric pace aren't as easy to come by as some seem to believe.

He was also the only thing keeping us alive before Richarlison started scoring in the run-in last season.

Richarlison scored six goals in the run in last season, three of them in losing games, one when we earned a point versus Leicester when he missed two glorious chances to win us the three points and Pickford earned us the one point with some fantastic saves, same as he did when Richie scored the winner v Chelsea when the whole team battled defensively to earn the three points and of course he got the equaliser v Crystal Pal before we won the game with a goal from DCL.

it must be stressed that Anthony Gordon ran his legs off in these final games of the season and played his part especially without the ball in the amount of pressing and defensive work he did when it was obvious he could no more after seventy minute, that was due to him being overplayed although Lampard had little,set to turn to.

Think Gordon will continue to improve with a few additions to the squad when he will get more time to rest between games and being subbed or being used as a sub.
 
Tbh if we held out for 40-45mil it’s hard to say no. We could probably get a 25 year old foreign player with twice the output for half of that.

Plus if it helps gets deals like Zinchenko and Broja over the line then it’d be worth it imo

I literally do not trust anyone at the club to buy anyone who could put twice the output.

We would end up with the next Andre Gomes, someone from a big club who has absolutely no mental strength and is coming for a pay day.

The club is a car wreck at the moment.
 
No chance he goes, the way he is progressing he will be 50m next summer minimum, it will leave a big dent in our squad, and it's Newcastle who have zero pull right now over big six teams who Gordon might fancy next summer

He's currently the only player in our squad that will go at players with the ball, which is worth more to us than the £35m on offer.

I mean sorry to say but both have done VASTLY more than Gordon so far.
