2021/22 Anthony Gordon

Keep at all costs. He probably has more potential than anybody left in our squad. It is likely his value will increase imo, and we would become worse without him. And he loves Everton. We could end up replacing him with a worse player. Selling Richarlison was bad enough, if we sell Gordon I think we’re asking for trouble. Try and shift some dross, not our best prospects. Try and come up with a plan where we don’t nosedive! That starts with trying to keep your best players, especially when there are so few worth keeping!

I think you have to factor in how good he is now relative to everyone not just young players (not that good) and how likely it is he'll one day be a top level player (for me I'd never bet on Everton developing someone).

I'd simply play the volume game. Sell Gordon, and spread the 35m out over 2 or 3 players his age or younger who might get better. Then if one does become a player you're set.
Sorry bro, this is on me. I underestimated your stupidity.

Whatever man, we're way too attached to mediocre players. Gordon is entirely potential at this point. Last season was a bottom five level standard. If someone wants to gamble big on that you take it otherwise you're the one gambling.

Thankfully we (finally) did the smart thing and sold a player for fair value.

Don't bother, he's just an attention seeking contrarian. Used to have Richarlison as his avatar then was made up at the thought of selling him, now wants gordon gone too. He's a poundland Dave with none of the character.

I made Richarlison my avatar three years ago when there was a chance he might improve. He didn't and we rightly sold him at a good price. That's how it works.

If it is 35 million straight cash for Gordon, I think we should take it.

That is insane money based on half a season. Think he is a good player, but that is a lot of money to turn down for any club...

Im not sure, you know. I genuinely think he believes he’s reached a state of football enlightenment which us mere football fans aren’t capable of.

Looking at the prevailing opinion, taking the opposite side with a healthy dose of patronising language. Over and over and over. That's how your posting works and it's really, really boring.

I think the prevailing sentiment around Everton is largely wrong
If you think it's wrong to want to keep a player who is:

a) seemingly on the up in terms of confidence and affecting matches
b) a local lad, a scouser with the right level of snide required for the top level
c) carried our attack for large portions of last season
d) talks about his love for the club on numerous occasions and how proud he is of the connection with the fans at an era where the disconnect between fans and players hasn't been greater

Well yeah then fair enough thats your opinion, but I am not taking it seriously at all and honestly think you're just being contrarian for the sake of it

Well I don't want to just give him away.
