Anyone who would entertain selling this particular player, given what he represents just to make a quick buck or citing any financial reasons doesn’t get football and certainly doesn’t get this club.
All too common on here now though.

If we sold him I wouldn’t blame any of our other players wanting to go, Lampard would never let it happen.

People wanting him sold after a good first full premier season, probably wanting to spend the money on other players who have had a half decent season like Broja, Gallagher etc

People saying he has hardly goals or assists, hardly anyone scored last year, and he had no one up front to actually assist.

Judge his end product when he's not involved in his first proper season under the worst possible atmosphere and situation under FSW, when he's not playing for the team with the lowest possession statistics across the entirety of the top 5 leagues top flight teams. When he's actually playing his preferred position, when he has ANY creative player or Midfield goal threat in the team and when he actually has a CF whose ACTUALLY a proper CF playing.

He'll not even all of these but just a couple of them before you do the stupidity of saying 'no end product laa'

One thing on his end product, he was very good at this at younger levels. He will get more clinical.

Single-handedly got us 3 points against United. Created plenty of chances and got an assist or two along the way too. I know you don’t particularly like the kid what have the other 2 seriously done?
Didn't he get hit by a shot?

Edit: sorry that's a different game this one was the massive deflection.

For the record I would gladly sell Gordon if it allowed us to buy Gallagher AND someone else on top like Broja. But one alone isn't worthwhile probably.

For me mate he's unsellable, only one of two who is the other being Pickford.

Thankfully seems like Lampard has that same opinion if the athletic report is true. Seems Lampard regards DCL as the third who is, and would agree if it wasn't fur that injury that scares me massively it'll reoccur.

One thing btw I've not thought of before, Lampard first came through at west ham when they where producing some great youngsters - seems to be in his DNA to trust in them and also to favour an English core group - which let's face it was whst made Chelsea a dominant team - Cole Lampard and Terry where the absolute linchpins of that team.

Broja scored more goals and the the other lad scored zillions.

I don't not like Gordon, I just don't buy into the "player of the season" hype that many have.

For the record, I wouldn't sell him for 35m and I'm very hopeful that he can add more end product next season and I really do look forward to joining his hype train.

I see all his strengths and if he can improve on what is only a few minor issues then 35m will look like chicken feed.

It's not even about output with him for me. It's his attitude, pressing and desire - the way he plays should be the benchmark to all our players if we want to be successful.

I get it, but for me 4 goals isn't worthy of praise.

Perhaps not. I think in a team that was essentially bottom 3 form ince he broke in, it was a reasonable performance level for a 20/21 year old in his first season.

His defensive stats are also outstanding.

But he needs to keep getting better.

Either way, his record in the top division is better than MGW. That means nothing mind, as if the figure was right I'd sell Gordon, and if the price is right I'd happily have MGW.

Imagine going into the summer excited thinking that we'll be getting rid of Gomes, Keane, Davies and Co, then finding out we're pawning the club's gold in the form of Richarlison and Gordon instead.
