Played well last night and when he is quicker than his full back - like he was last night against Azpilicueta - he goes round them fun. He has always looked good against that type of player like in some of the cup teams last season against lower league teams.

Still not 100% convinced he is a top premier league player though, but is certainly a better option than Iwobi and if he continues to develop, then you never know

Ancelotti nearly destroyed this lad's confidence, and if he'd stayed on here he'd have had Gordon on loan somewhere this season.
that was really weird. He told the world that he'd been in to see him about why he wasn't playing and then didn't pick him for a year.

I feel similar to this. He is quite a bit short of many of his peers that have come through at other clubs technically. He is improving though

One of my very critical towards us Kopite colleague and a few others rate Gordon very highly. Perhaps we're too critical of our youngsters.

He’s young so he’s bound to be inconsistent. What’s more, he’s currently playing in one of the worst Everton sides in decades, and that takes some doing. The fact he’s showing bits is highly encouraging.

I agree with you, but some the hype after last night is only setting the lad up to fail. Someone compared him to Steve McManaman in the Match Thread last night.

He’s shown good promise in patches, but he’s still some way off being a finished article.

Of course he is, he's only 20, what do you expect?

His end product is going to come - we’ve seen flashes of brilliance when it comes to his final ball, but ultimately, he’s still learning his game

He grafts every week though, and that’s the main thing. He has those moments where you can see there’s a player there, but he’ll track back and work hard too

He’s going to be fine for us given time
