Played well last night and when he is quicker than his full back - like he was last night against Azpilicueta - he goes round them fun. He has always looked good against that type of player like in some of the cup teams last season against lower league teams.

Still not 100% convinced he is a top premier league player though, but is certainly a better option than Iwobi and if he continues to develop, then you never know
I'll settle for him being a premier league player!

I agree, though, and he's certainly added work-rate to his game, something I'd not noticed from him before whether 1st team or U23.

One of my very critical towards us Kopite colleague and a few others rate Gordon very highly. Perhaps we're too critical of our youngsters.
Very possibly so. I think it is because we are all so eager to see them do well and they get built up by the local press without ever having done much.

I really hope Gordon continues to develop and certainly game time is the way to do it. And certainly I'd play the youngsters over the likes of Rondom, Iwobi etc... as at least they may have a future with us

You speak a lot of sense.

I think he showed last night that he’s got a brain as well and won’t just remain raw talent forever.
You look at Barkley for example, he had more raw talent than Gordon but made awful decisions all the time so could never kick on to the next level even though he’d score the odd wonder goal.
Gordon though was really smart last night. Knew when to make a simple pass, when to run at people and take a risk and most importantly for our game plan, he knew when to win us a free kick (without diving!) to take the pressure off and give us 30 seconds to slow down the game.
I like that he is already vocal with team mates and is properly made up playing for us. Always improving and that is the key. If he continues to do that then who knows, at the very least we could have a really good premier league player who won't jump ship at the first offer that comes his way.

Fair play to the boy. I don’t think he’ll ever be technically good enough but worked his socks off and bought some valuable free kicks by using his body cleverly against his opponent, alleviating pressure on us.

Clearly a very willing team player and no doubt that’ll endear him to the manager.

A post full of backhanded compliments

Sadly a common theme that happens with the younger players. DCL got it a lot as well
