2022/23 Anthony Gordon

What I’ll say to everyone bricking it is just this simple comparison of statistics last season.

Anthony Gordon - 40 games, 4 goals, 3 assists in all competitions.

Andros Townsend - 27 games, 7 goals, 4 assists in all competitions.

Demarai Gray - 39 games, 6 goals, 5 assists in all competitions.

Anyone saying he’s somehow irreplaceable or anything like that is utterly insane. Anyone losing their mind over this has me puzzled quite honestly, do you honestly realise how one sided this transfer would be in our favour?

I know he’s a young player and can improve but you can literally see last season that he was outperformed by a free transfer and a £1.5m player. In what world is that someone who’s worth losing out on potentially £50m for.

He’s only a few months younger than McNeil, even if you think he’s better than McNeil is he £35m better than him? Not a chance.

Wayne Rooney got 8 and 1 the season before he moved to Man U, in 37 games, only 6 in the PL, while young Anthony isn’t on pens.

Benitez sold Digne
Lampard has no hand in selling Gordon

Yeah, 'kin right.

The lengths some people will go to in order to justify any sale.

Lampard is right in the cross hairs if Gordon is sold...make absolutley no mistake about that.

There's a lot of people already wanting to pitchfork this manager - purely and simply for the reason that they think we should chop and change on the back of a couple of defeats. They are ridiculous and a minority.

The problem for Frank though is that there are a lot more people who are willing to see him get time in the job who will be alienated by any decision to sell Gordon given we all thought the sacrifice would be Richarlison AND he himself has always underlined Gordon's role in what he wants to do here. That's what he's played to since he's been here: keeping our hime grown and developing it and buying intelligently.

If he's bought McNeil and is letting go of Gordon that *contract* is broken and he'll be deserted by the majority of fans when we go into a poor period in the season.

He's loaded the guns to be fired at him here. He has to scrap this idea. No one wants Godon sacrificed for a few million plus a dud like Gilmour...and THAT is exactly what we'll get.

Agree to sell him to Chelsea for £50 million just before the window shuts then just before he’s supposed to sign get him to undo his tracksuit top with once a blue always a blue. With Barkley is a rat underneath… Then tell them the deals off

The balls in our court with this one though, we aren’t hampered with any deadlines like what happened with Richarlison; we can hold out for a desirable amount of money, or keep Gordon.

Dont let your head fall off over a transfer link Dave. You’re better than this.

Rooney was 18 years old and left for a record fee for a player his age. As a 17/18 year old striker he was better than a goal every 4 games in a very poor side. Don’t try to act like they’re even remotely the same thing.

If you want to compare them like that fine, at 21 Rooney was consistently scoring 20 goals a season and playing in the best team in the world, winning trophies.

So selling one of our top prospects, to play transfer roulette improves us - that’s far from a given, with the numbers flying around, one Gordon get you two Dwight McNeills - besides there is only two and half weeks left if this window, half a Jan transfer window.

It’s a hard no for me mate.
If there were better options than Gordon the likes of Chelsea, Spurs and Newcastle would be looking to get them, not Gordon.

The more I look into it tonight, I think this has been lined up for a while. It’s pretty well known more players had to go and to see so many particularly the ITK/connected crowd pushing this as a positive, I think they have known for a bit beforehand.

Or I’m some paranoid dweeb sweating in the humid moonlight. Take your pick.
