Gordon doesn’t get near Gray for pace but that’s not the be all and end all.

For £50 million, Gordon must be sold, it’s a no brainier. If you’re concerned about a lack of pace we could sign someone like Adama Traore for £10 million, which wouldn’t weaken the current team in anyway and then invest the other £40 million more wisely.
Why would they offer this because he's good ffs.

It’s almost as if there was a hire made in that time period that is what people are talking about. Stop trying to play ignorant as if we don’t have a DoF at the club.

It’s very clear that he’s the one in charge of transfers, I’m sure Lampard has an opinion but he obviously doesn’t have final say one way or the other. None of our signings so far have had anything to do with Lampard in an official sense.
Stop making excuses. He's not the janitor at FF mate. He is the decision maker ultimately. As Brands always said about leaving Silva with the final say so.

Rooney was 18 years old and left for a record fee for a player his age. As a 17/18 year old striker he was better than a goal every 4 games in a very poor side. Don’t try to act like they’re even remotely the same thing.

If you want to compare them like that fine, at 21 Rooney was consistently scoring 20 goals a season and playing in the best team in the world, winning trophies.

Now hang on a second you are trying to prove a point by stats. Ive just illustrated that your argument is moot by the premise.

All you’ve just done is illustrate and in fact argue in your post here,- is stats aren’t the data to rule them all - look at you here in your post above, you are adding qualitative data to a quantitative arguement, you’re undermining your own primary premise.

Of course this could all just be shut down by Gordon saying he doesn’t want to leave. The very fact we’ve supposedly received a bid would suggest his agent has allowed the possibility at the very least.

Tbh I’ve always been of the view that if a player would rather be somewhere else let’s have them out (not saying this is Gordon currently). If he is looking elsewhere though then he won’t be giving it all here so I’d rather we give the minutes to someone who is willing to die for the shirt.

Gordon can nip this in the bud very quickly by simply saying he is staying.

Feels like we’re getting played again and that all these proclaimations about the next two weeks and judgement at the end of the window were based on this sale.

The fella who talked Moshiri into staying on knows this script well and it seems knows exactly how to play Evertonians who are sadly lapping it up.
One out at the start of the window and then drop a bombshell at the end of it with the justification that "well, you want a striker in dont you?"

Itl's completely cynical. This club and Lampard are taking the piss if Gordon is sold.

Benitez sold Digne
Lampard has no hand in selling Gordon

Yeah, 'kin right.

The lengths some people will go to in order to justify any sale.

Lampard is right in the cross hairs if Gordon is sold...make absolutley no mistake about that.

There's a lot of people already wanting to pitchfork this manager - purely and simply for the reason that they think we should chop and change on the back of a couple of defeats. They are ridiculous and a minority.

The problem for Frank though is that there are a lot more people who are willing to see him get time in the job who will be alienated by any decision to sell Gordon given we all thought the sacrifice would be Richarlison AND he himself has always underlined Gordon's role in what he wants to do here. That's what he's played to since he's been here: keeping our hime grown and developing it and buying intelligently.

If he's bought McNeil and is letting go of Gordon that *contract* is broken and he'll be deserted by the majority of fans when we go into a poor period in the season.

He's loaded the guns to be fired at him here. He has to scrap this idea. No one wants Godon sacrificed for a few million plus a dud like Gilmour...and THAT is exactly what we'll get.

Why do you have to be such a drama queen Dave?

Of course if Gordon gets sold, Lampard will have a say in that, he'll have a say in if its the right thing to do, he'll have a say in what will be made available, he'll have a say in who he would like in.

It's called being a manager, they manage the situation and do what they think is best and will keep them in a job.

Loaded guns, contracts broken etc is just you posting utter guff.

Any offer, whether your Everton or Real Madrid, has to be considered and if a big offer comes in for one of our players, well we have to consider it.

Just let things play out without being so dramatic.

Sticks with me what a poster said yesterday. Gordon rates himself higher than his current ability, great potential but just that right now, he seems to think he is a player who has made it already when he has along way to go. It's not his fault we have put so much pressure on his shoulders he's a twenty year old kid who works hard and shows flashes but if we get a 50m plus fee we have to sell in our position. We desperately need forwards who will produce more this season. Sad situation but is what it is it's down to our board that we are here. Ultimately the sale clears our FFP and we can recruit players who can get assist and goals this season.

What I’ll say to everyone bricking it is just this simple comparison of statistics last season.

Anthony Gordon - 40 games, 4 goals, 3 assists in all competitions.

Andros Townsend - 27 games, 7 goals, 4 assists in all competitions.

Demarai Gray - 39 games, 6 goals, 5 assists in all competitions.

Anyone saying he’s somehow irreplaceable or anything like that is utterly insane. Anyone losing their mind over this has me puzzled quite honestly, do you honestly realise how one sided this transfer would be in our favour?

I know he’s a young player and can improve but you can literally see last season that he was outperformed by a free transfer and a £1.5m player. In what world is that someone who’s worth losing out on potentially £50m for.

He’s only a few months younger than McNeil, even if you think he’s better than McNeil is he £35m better than him? Not a chance.
^ one of the best posts in this whole thread.

If there were better options than Gordon the likes of Chelsea, Spurs and Newcastle would be looking to get them, not Gordon.

I mean we went to Burnley for Cornet and came home with McNeill. Lads are posting stats of Townsend and Gray, telling us not to stress and panic the two lads have this.

Remember last year when people were saying be great thing shifting out Jamo Rodriguez, because we got great value in Townsend and Gray ,we really kicked on didnt we.

WTF has happened to us.
