2022/23 Anthony Gordon

I dont but it at all really. He is different but similar level to Ross, and will probably kick on to be a very good player.

And his goal return actually pretty good, when you factor in what a poor side he was in.
His goal return is about 4 in 50 games init?

Can slice and dice that however you want but that's a terrible return whether he's at city or Norwich.

His own words 6 months ago, regarding the potential Bayern Munich move:

Gordon told the ECHO: “I’ve never wanted to leave Everton. It’s my home, I’m a Scouser and a home bird as well.

“The thought of leaving home scares me. It probably wasn’t for me and I never really considered it.”

Interesting if he has in fact made it clear he wants the move. Alright giving it all that about a link with Bayern Munich that we don’t even know was true, wasn’t he?

I wouldn’t begrudge him a move to a far better team, although I suspect it may do his career more harm than good at this stage looking at what happened to Hudson-Odoi, Abraham etc. I just wish they wouldn’t give it the sound bites then force a move 6 months later. If that’s what’s happening.
Moving to a London team is a bit different than moving to another country.

That being said it could go all Ross Barkley for him but wish him the best if he goes.

50m please

Well as I keep saying, people in football clearly think otherwise.

I think it's ok for a lad aged 19-21, and Chelsea/Newcastle seem to agree.

I’m generally dead against selling young, talented players even for big fees. Especially when they’re local (I know it probably doesn’t matter to Evertonians around the world). It sends a bad message, for one.

But for someone who doesn’t deliver stats wise, and won’t ever be blessed with the physicality of a Haaland or even a Sterling… that’s a lot of money. Especially when there are horrendous short comings almost right across the starting 11 and bench.

I got absolutely slated for suggesting he had attitude issues when he rocked up to pre season dressed like that… but something felt off with him, he had a woeful pre season and the first 2 games weren’t great although out of position.

If he wants to leave… good riddance, take the money and buy some players who want to be here

Said earlier I dont think he's been fully at it in the first two games. I think the interest from Spurs turned his head.
Not sure what you mean by 'being fully fit' but am I the only one who thinks he looks goosed after an hour, disappears out of the game and then has a spurt in the last 5 minutes if he hasn't been subbed

Germany and London though pal

Language barrier extra travel distance etc

2hr train trip back home if he needs his mums nipple

45 mil? Yeah I’m pretty confident we can replace the 3 or 4 goals he’d likely have scored with that. I get that he’s a local but the team as a whole improves with that money provided we don’t do normal Everton things with it. Have Chelsea toss in a loan for Gallagher or Broja and he should be off. Thanks Tony.

I agree, but it’s still miles away culturally from Liverpool and he can’t come back every week.

Plus, unless he gets at least £100k per week he won’t be able to afford Virgin trains.

People in football clearly think 4 goals in 51 is a gold return?

Where do they think this?

Chelsea think he has good potential and are prepared to spend for it, like they have done constantly over the years.

He does have potential, but the state we are in at the minute 50m to us is FAR more useful being spent on 2-3 first team ready made players in than on a player who might or might not turn out to be class, but CURRENTLY most definitely isn't top class

We can all disagree, but lets not have a go at Catcher for being positive and having faith in our players and using it to 'prove' him wrong. He might go a bit overboard, but its much better than those on here who cant wait to crap on our players. Even if i dont agree with his take on Gordon, its nice to see someone willing to activly show their faith in our young prospects like hes doing.

There is having faith and there is being completely deluded.
