I'm pretty sure at time Kane was injured and playing in midfield and Calvert Lewin had just got a hatrick. On that day, it was true.

Unfortunately it didnt last, and injuries have really held him back. It's a shame.
Kane has never played in midfield.

What he has done and shows how good a player he is is to briefly play as a 10 and provide assists as well as scoring.

The argument that you advanced at the time - that DCL was better than Kane - was absurd and gets worse with time.

I think other posters on here are correct - you significantly overrate our young players - sadly it can tend to undermine other very good points that you advance on other issues.

Back ontopic with Gordon. Yes he has potential but I am totally unconvinced that h will ever progress to be a top player.

SHOW ME THE MOOOONEY! Sell him. The lad works his backside off etc, but he's not exactly outstanding. We've been selling players for decades, so this would be no different. Sell him, bring in a striker, and clear some of the FFP for next summer.

People in football clearly think 4 goals in 51 is a gold return?

Where do they think this?

Chelsea think he has good potential and are prepared to spend for it, like they have done constantly over the years.

He does have potential, but the state we are in at the minute 50m to us is FAR more useful being spent on 2-3 first team ready made players in than on a player who might or might not turn out to be class, but CURRENTLY most definitely isn't top class

Not necessarily, but they wont think it's a bad return. They arent put off by it.

The 2nd part, I agree. I sell at 45m and say thank you very much!

They spent 35 million on Danny Drinkwater solely to have a home grown player laying around they knew would never see the pitch

They bought Drinkwater and Kante at the same time though. It was either to disrupt/punish Leicester for having the temerity to win the league OR they thought that together they could repeat the same medicine that they had done at Leicester

Either way, Drinkwater has his career binned
