Said earlier I dont think he's been fully at it in the first two games. I think the interest from Spurs turned his head.
Is it?But the thread is filled with people saying hes a championship player. Yet a team miles better than Everton want to pay a huge sum of money for him.
And people seem to get frustrated by me saying, maybe Gordon is quite good
Which is it?
Fair enough. Suspect he will win a lot more than Mirallas ever did though.Im sure they do - they have also proved theyre willing to throw money at players, some great, some not very good at all.
Dont get me wrong tho, I like Gordon and i think he can become a good PL player, maybe even a really good one. On the other hand, if someone whipped up a magic wand and asked me if Id trade him with the Kevin Mirallas we bought in 2012(or somewhere around there?) Id take it.
I'm pretty sure at time Kane was injured and playing in midfield and Calvert Lewin had just got a hatrick. On that day, it was true.
Unfortunately it didnt last, and injuries have really held him back. It's a shame.
Yes that's exactly what potential means which you haven't factored in.'promising' and 'possibly' are two key words in there.
There's nothing whatsoever to suggest that £45-50m for Gordon right now is bad business. Room for improvement, sure. Peak Ronaldo, highly doubtful. Could easily end up go a similar way of Barkley or Rodwell after a bright start (although I think he will be better than those two). £50m = no brainer when we can reinvest that in the team and significantly improve a couple of areas.
Is it?
I've seen people say he's not worth the money ( he's not ) and people point out his massive flaw which is his goal/assist return.
I like the lad, one of the few in the squad I don't actively dislike, but take away the local thing and his amazing work rate, he's not that good.
For comparison Ross Barkley was 10x the player he was at the same age.
We can all disagree, but lets not have a go at Catcher for being positive and having faith in our players and using it to 'prove' him wrong. He might go a bit overboard, but its much better than those on here who cant wait to crap on our players. Even if i dont agree with his take on Gordon, its nice to see someone willing to activly show their faith in our young prospects like hes doing.Direct quote here;
‘World class this lad. Best striker in world football for me. A very very good man’s version of Harry Kane’
