If 50 million cuts it, it can only be on the basis we already have at least two more coming in, with known form (and able to play 90 from the off), that will slot straight in.
Rather than paying £30+ million for someone that's (apparently) not fit to play the full game, but clearly can change a game in, when it's too late in the last ten minutes.

Using utd as a example is boring now, Maguire signed 4 seasons ago, they also haven't made a very good signing since 2013 and r a absolute shambles of a football club. At least compare his price to similar players who have recently moved, like Diaz and Kulusevski, who both went for less than 50m.
I was talking about the guy Chelsea are meant to be buying

I'd like to go on record to say that I really would like to keep Gordon.

Best potential we have produced in a long time. With God given pace to burn too. Lots to develop in my opinion.

But.are we in a place to have the luxury of developing players of Gordon's age. I duno...it's a tough one
You're right. It's a gamble either way.

For 50m I'm leaning more on the sell side. I honestly reckon we'll be better off in the next 12/18 months provided that money is reinvested.

Who Fofana? he was playing first team football in France at 17 and was straight into the Leicester team at 19, he is probably their best CB and for his age (21 now) one of the best around, he has everything in his locker.
For 80m I would hope so. I have never heard of him until about a week ago though.

Probably says more about me than him though

Here's the funny thing a 19yo Ronaldo - Gordon was 20 last season, played 29 times for united his first season there and scored 4 goals and was labelled as going down too easy and a diver with no end product just tricks.
Ronaldo at that age always showed flickers of absolute brilliance and flair though. That’s the difference between a young ronaldo with 5 goals in his first season at united and a Gordon, with not too dissimilar return, who hasn’t shown any insight into what specialist attribute he brings in the attacking third which can be developed with time. He doesn’t create chances, he can’t take set pieces, doesn’t score goals - for me pace and chasing the ball do not win football matches.

Just seen him in Crosby, he's not going anywhere.
