Looked at objectively £40 million is a huge transfer fee given his current end product. He has a lot of potential and whilst he should go on and have a good career he's no Rooney. For that fee he should be sold and we wish him all the best.
40m, no chance we get that, the player we have today isn't worth it, he could grow to be a 40m player but today's player is far from it.
If we got a 40m offer we would be crazy to turn it down.

Whether it's a good deal probably depends on how you reinvest that money.

But two things:
- If Gordon didn't play for us, how many would be demanding we sign him for any significant fee, let alone £50m
- And he has a load of potential and could go on to be a very good player. But it is just potential and, in my opinion, he's more likely to not realise that potential at Everton than he is to realise that potential at Everton.

96th minute, we have Villa under the cosh, and going for an equaliser.

We get a corner, you know who takes it.................................................................

Need to stop worrying about how much players are worth 3 years after we sell them. He might do his ACL, he might win the ballon d’or. Who knows.

If they don’t fit what we need now, aren’t quite the finished product and then someone offers silly money for “potential”, take it and reinvest in starting line up players that actually fit Kevs chosen formation. We need productivity now, not in 2026.

Very happy to keep him, but £40-50m is an absolute joke of a price.

Spurs with previous interest and Chelsea now interested in him, but according to some on here he's not even a Championship player and would sell for £15m ?

Because they see a player with the raw materials to become a very good footballer and probably have the superior coaches to get something out of him. I don't think we do, hence why our academy products don't hit the heights we all think they will when they first come through (Davies, Barkley, Rodwell, etc).
