I don't think we will ever be offered £45 - £50m again for Gordon, I don't mind Chelsea making it up with players, but please don't accept anything less than Broja and Conor Gallagher in exchange.
Gilmour and Batshuayi won't improve us
I think Gilmour improves the squad but I also would probably value him at under £10m, especially in a deal like this. Think if £50m is around the magic number we’re looking for then Broja + Gilmour and around £25m-£30m would be very good business on our end.

For what it’s worth Batshuayi also improves our squad at the minute because he’s an actual striker but I’d prefer the money instead and to go after someone else.

That's pretty much my position.

I see him as a higher talent and certainly not the worst winger in the league (christ hes not even the worst winger at our club) but there comes a price where you need to sell. We are almost at that point.

Inevitably there will be animosity towards Gordon, but really he is a success story and should spur on future actions.

To prospective academy signings, you can go from Preston reserves to Chelsea on a huge salary in 15 months. To existing academy players- look what can be achieved. For the club, we probably sacrificed a handful of games, then 1/3 of a season where he had low/minimal output, got 1/2 a season of reasonable output and are getting paid 50m in the process. It makes a tonne more sense than continual short term fixes of say James/Sigurdsson etc.
This is the thing, it's exactly what Everton should be doing. We just have some stupid fans - every club does, obviously - who will think it's about Gordon thinking he's better etc.

He has to be better, your top attacker can't be producing what he has and that not be a problem
What the club can't do is cry poverty if they turn down that much, as they have done.

It's fair to make that decision if they have a valuation and it hasn't been met, which they do and as of yet it hasn't, but they can't then say 'well we just didn't have the money'.

So if they do keep him they better make sure they've got enough to get the type of players in we need, like an actual striker. There's no excuses if they don't.

It's kind of irrelevant what Gordon wants to me. I dont get people getting wound up over him. I dont care. I'll be glad if he goes as we will have a lot of money.

Mustn’t be played today if we are selling him, just our luck that he will do a hammy or something :/ If we have decided to sell him, wrap him in bubble wrap and stick him in cold storage until we have the cheque in our hands
