If they do submit a written offer whilst we are actually in the middle of a match, that is very very scummy. I wanted to take the money, but would respond live on Sky that we find their ill-timed approach offensive, unsporting, and they can sniff it. Then sell him to Spurs for £35m

The problem is how far off would the media have to be for this to be a bad deal for us?

I don't think the club have valued the player properly and that is not great when you have no money and need to be able to make deals.

Yeah could make the same case for whatever the reported starting offers of circa £30/35/40million.

There isn’t a financial case for not selling - if we don’t, it can only be that they weren’t expecting the business and aren’t organised enough/aren’t confident enough they could replace him this window. Selling to replace with two weak/weaker options isn’t going to improve us.

I suspect if offer(s) are anywhere near what is being reported we’re stalling while we try to identify who we can sign with the money. Premier league also rans and relegation fodder need not apply.

Whilst you can't deny it's a lot of money for someone so raw, who definitely needs to inprove end product. The issues I have with selling Gordon are firstly we'll probably just spend it on a load of dross. Secondly, the end of last season was the first time in years the fans have established a connection with the players and club again to drag us over the line. Richarlison and Gordon were two of the big players behind that connection, I feel like we'll lose that again with the rest of these wasters. But £60 million is hard to refuse....
