If we need to balance the books, better to sell pickford first which has reached his peak rather than Gordon where we're not quite sure of his real value as of today.
Other argument is that Gordon is pure profit on the ffp books which would help us a lot right now . It’s a gamble with him. Does his value get higher than 30million? Jury is out.

It’s frustrating that financial implications even play a role. Get the board out!

True, but then you have to look at the cost as well.

Pickford costs us 9.4 mill a year.

Annual wage: 5.2 mill

Amortisation: 4.2 mill

Total: 9.4 mill

So in addition to a transfer fee less 4.2 mill of a book price, you are removing the cost of an extra 10 mill per season from the annual accounts.

Lads like young Flash are gold dust:

Hes on 10k a week (at the moment)

No amortisation

His annual total cost to us is: 520k a year.

Pickford would also be significant profits as he has been here for many years now...

Gordon goes for anything above £20 million for me.

Mediocre player and nothing says to me he will kick on. Let's face it, Everton have a history of bringing no young player forward in 20 years.

I don’t think he’s that good.

He’s a young lad, and in theory the sky is his limit, but his work ethic right now isn’t good enough. I think under a manager like Eddie Howe, he’d be a good player. He’s the same manager who made players like Adam Smith, Harry Arter, Simon Francis, Charlie Daniels Premier League standard and they were absolutely garbage.

Gordon has potential, but he’s got too many flaws and is in the spotlight here.

I’d honestly accept £25m for him.

Unfortunately we are not in a position to be turning down good money for potential, especially as he cost nothing. Anything around £30m with a decent sell on clause then take it.

The bigger issue isnt losing Gordon, its how the money is spent.

Depends on what the sporting objectives were agreed on doesnt it? As none of us know, its possible that it doesnt have to be paid.

If they don’t get a buyer and go into administration we will just be another creditor to negotiate getting x amount of p per £ to settle it.

You've got to hope someone would buy them but with the points deductions and huge debts it might be beneficial to snap them up on the cheap with a clean slate at a later date.

Or even more likely we just get him back
