2022/23 Anthony Gordon

I’d be very surprised if it’s actually Anthony gordon, and not just a social media manager, like many professional footballers have nowadays.

He’s a terrible excuse for a footballer, but I don’t reckon this “like” is a reason to be fuming at him.
I'm definitely not fuming.

I think most people are fuming at him cos he's crap. All is forgiven if he is sold for a decent fee.

Oh I know, he’s absolutely garbage mate, I completely agree.

But Twitter is losing its head over it. Delph had a similar issue (not the threatening one), they have managers who run it. His account doesn’t even look personal, so can’t see it being him.

I’d take £20m, honestly.

The lad has definitely become the new Tom Davies

I would love him to be a huge success here - Christ we've been praying for the next Rooney for almost 20 years now - and unfortunately Anthony Gordon isn't going to be that - but we don't have to hate him for it

That phantom bid from Chelsea was the worst thing that could have happened to him (and us) - an unhappy player and an unhappy fanbase

I've never seen a poor tackle from an attacking player microanalysed and criticised as much as his against Southampton

His time here may nearly be up - but it shouldn't be a huge cause for celebration - it's just another blue that didn't hit the heights

All went wrong for him when Dom&Tom told him to express himself and be himself. Turns out himself takes the effort he put in last season and turns it into reckless challenges and head down dribbling with very little output. Has deserved his recent time on the bench.

If he could try not being himself again and be whoever he was pretending to be last season, being honest, he was as good as most replacements we can afford. Could be useful as he does have what we are trying to buy, pace. He just has no idea how to use it either to create chances, or to at least force defences to change shape to cover his runs, leaving others with more space to operate. They just ignore him.

If he insists on being the real Anthony Gordon, which apparently is stroppy and crap, then if we can pocket £25m plus and still stay in the PL, everyone is a winner.

As long as the money can be used this window and here's the problem spent right, it's a good move.

Firstly gets ffp off, or what ever it's called off our back(100% profit as home grown player). Second helps us be more sustainable, if we go down. Thirdly, seems to have lost his way here so now's the time to sell.

More overrated than Barkley and Rodwell.

Those two actually did the odd good thing for us. What’s Gordon actually done in reality? A few deflected goals last season and some half decent pressing the season before. Barkley ran the pitch at St James’, ignored Lukaku, and then lashed home with his wrong foot. Proper baller back then.

I remember saying something last summer akin to 'Gordon is being set up to fail by everyone who is claiming he is this massive talent'. And thats what we're seeing now. Insted of him being a fairly limited player, he is now 'lazy' or 'buying into his own hype', when really, he is the same player he was last season.
A winger who was benched at Preston a little more than a year ago is not going to suddenly become a star player.

I suspect we will get nowhere near 40m
So would you take 25m?
I know youre not asking me, but i would take anything north of 20m in a heartbeat.
