Just wasn’t ready to be starting every week and carry the attack in a team without any other creative spark or goal scoring ability. Just too big an ask and he’s struggled. Doesn’t mean he’s a terrible player, he’s got potential but come in at the wrong time.

I disagree mate, both could penetrate, i get hes nearly being chased out of the club and after the scenes two weeks ago i wouldnt blame him for pursuing his development elsewhere.
But if we had a threat on either side, with Gordon on one flank, Danjuma on the other, DCL fit and someone in behind then i think that changes the dynamic and cutting edge.
Newcastle aren't buying him for the good of their health, they see how they can turn 30 mill into more. We arent that far sighted and that is immensely sad. I notice young Lookman is second in the Serie A scoring charts, Moise Kean, dropped a shape for PSG - we are immensely short sighted in developing our young players and our patience is woeful, in fact in all those cases we ran them out of the club.
May as well keep signing 29 - 30 year olds.
