He’s another player with potential, he’s by far not the finished article, I’d have taken him out if the team a couple of times this season and you would expect to have to that in his context. He has it all but he has to put it together. Like Gordon. Patience, nurturing and development is required.

It’s actually interesting to look at Garner, Onana Gordon. They are all in and around the same age, but how each is viewed, judged and seen as one for be future or not are very different.

The reaction, this environment, the expectation and our absolute lack of support of him as a player and by us as fans has promted this, if I was him I’d want out as well.

It’s an immensely sad situation. It’s a lad we should look at like say Garner - one to support and develop incrementally toward the future who should be challegeung Richarlison for a place or someone else on the opposite flank and learning the game. Instead of having the huge responisbility thrust in him, with no centre forward to play off for the majority of his senior games. He will get the former elsewhere and develop - Like I say that is immensely sad. We should have taken joy in him instead of spitting venom.

Elsewise now we are asking the club to replace Richarlison, Gordon and likely Dominic Calvert-Lewin in a week in a poor market - do you trust our recruitment team to do that……

He should never ever have been thrust into being our main creative hope.

He did have his head turned in the summer.

He would probably have signed a new deal but Everton have put all of that on hold.

We need money. He's not that good (yet). He could be very good, but right now he isn't and what he offers on the pitch isn't worth it to a club in our financial situation tbh.

It has to be done, and done quickly. Get the money in and give the new manager and DoF some scope to improve the squad.

Might just be me but I thought Townsend was a quality signing. Very unlucky with the injury, good player, great attitude and has good experience. If he didn’t get so badly injured I’d have him in the team now, think he’s easily our best crosser of the ball and would probably do well with Calvert Lewin, that being said he’s probably goosed after that injury, be pleasantly surprised if he played again.
