Praying this goes through.

Massively overated.

Take the Geordie’s to the cleaners and get some players that actually can contribute.

It's hard to tell if he is overrated or not. Like any of our forward line, individually they would look better at another club where there is some attacking. That breeds confidence, they jump up a notch again and so on. It's our players when put as a collective are not able to do this.

What we can say is he isn't a difference maker, not like a Richarlison. So if we can get one of those in or a few consistent 7 out of 10 players who aren't scared of their own shadows then we are better off.

I'd like to get to a point where we can part ways without slating. He might go on to bigger and better things, perhaps not, but by bringing in 40-50 million he's done his job that we needed him to do. Everyone's a winner.

Irrelivant, they would have all been good for us.

Instead, we kept Hibbert and Ossy.
Barkley was good for us and probably still would be. Not too sure on the others. Rodwell was an absolute myth of a player in my opinion, he just never ever looked like a top player to me. Jeffers had talent and he burst on to the scene but so have many others across the world, it doesn't mean they go on to have good careers. Gordon might go the same way, he might not. He's got talent and I wouldn't rule out that he could really kick on if it all clicks into place, but it's just not happened for him here so far and taking the money now makes sense. I'd rather we were in a position where we could turn it down and see how it pans out but we're not.

We haven’t got time to see if he turns into something brilliant, the current situation we find ourselves in means we should be all over this offer. Reinvest into 2 (3 if we can structure well) good players from abroad with upside potential and go from there. Let Newcastle roll the dice, if they benefit so be it we haven’t got time and need to reinvest (ideally over the coming days)

None of us have a crystal ball so you can only forecast so much and without any real accuracy. Everton are more progressive when they are developing young talent for future benefit but we haven’t got that privilege now as our future could be catastrophic in 3/4 months time should we be relegated. The financial cost of that when we’re looking to open a new stadium and commercialise it would a doomsday scenario.

So although we’re bottom of the league and truly dire there is opportunity with a new manager and one week left to buy new players. If selling an ineffective Gordon can generate money to help that opportunity and somehow help Everton avoid relegation then regardless what he goes on to achieve it will have been a fine business decision.

Bye mate.
