I normally fume when our homegrown talent is taken from us...but really not in this case. Whether it's just acceptance of how the club is now run..or the fact I don't rate him? Probably a mix of the two...but really a bit meh over this one

Feel for Gordon some. He hasn't done himself any favors with his attitude but at any well run club he never sees the pitch so early. Certainly doesn't have 60+ appearances at his age and ability level. Now it's gone so sideways he's unlikely to be successful at Everton even if he got his head on straight. Good move for both parties if it happens.

He's 21 to be fair, not 16.

Sure but he's not Bellingham or any of the wonderkids that bursts on the scene at 18 either. He's probably an eventual solid premier league player if he's properly developed. Now even that is in question because he was forced in too soon due to our complete inability to build a coherent squad.

It’s not, yes who wouldn’t want to go to Chelsea Or Newcastle now looking at the mess we’re in but an academy graduate who’s probably been looked after by the club for years and his boyhood club id like to see the passion and desire shown last season which is why I liked him last season had the right attitude and was his break through season, footballing wise wasn’t great, he’s chose go missing and sulk cause a move didn’t happen he clearly wanted a move before that stupid video of the fans around his car
Not arsed in the slightest if he goes, I don’t thinks as good as he thinks he is.

But imagine growing up a Blue and wanting to leave after breaking into the first team?! They all seem to do it though: Rooney, Jeffers, Barkley, Rodwell.

I know money is a motivator obviously (and I’ve probably just answered my own question) but I’d want to do my best to get the club more competitive and to challenge, not sell me arse to a club I’ve no connection to. I’d have give my left testicle to play for Everton, but unfortunately I was crap.

Then go after a few years if it’s not working with good wishes.

Rooney had a great career it was really on a totally different level at 16 year than gordon is at his age.I feel gordon will make a mistake in leaving though. fall straight into a second string player at another club. I feel if he gave ? he would be a starter with us next number of years and progress his career.

he has attributes but will need game time and committed to learn to grown as a player. Next couple years are vital.

barkley, Jeffers and Rodwell. not on Rooney level but undoubtedly would have got the game time needed to progress at everton. they moved and then failed.

Rooney didn't want to go. Club wanted to sell him. They already had a deal with Chelsea lined up where he'd go to Middlesbrough on loan behind his back

Doesn’t deserve the abuse he’s getting but he’s also not as good has made out. He stood up and stood out in an absolute poor side last season and he’s not exactly set the league on fire this season. We should have cashed in during the summer.

Newcastle are flying at the mi it’s but Howe will soon be found out and it will go pear shaped up there. Bad move for him going up Newcastle, might be getting a lot of hype, but once they go on a losing streak, the hype will die down and there fans will pipe up and start kicking off.
