It wasn't £40m up front which is what we wanted. Going off what someone who lead the way on the reporting it off the time said.
We have to take the best final figure we can get even if it all isn't paid up front. It will all count towards our accounting gain on the player, even if it's paid on the drip.

I think if we got 30m-35m guaranteed, plus some incentives and maybe a sell on clause, we would have to take the deal without doubt. Unfortunately the player's actions mean Newcastle hold the cards.

Apparently they are offering £33m upfront plus £7m of add ons, so a total of £40m, there are some suggestions we are looking for closer to £50m. We are going to screw this up aren't we.

I'd probably take that deal, although no problem at allwith trying to get as much as we can.

The problem is that everyone knows we have to sell now so our bargaining position is weak.

He's getting plenty of stick off respected journalists on Twitter for his behaviour.
Good. Nobody should feel sorry for him. Everton invested time and money for him to become a millionaire and get to play at the highest level and he won’t come in and do the job he’s paid to do because a few knobs (and they were knobs absolutely) gave him a bit of stick after his rash decision lost us a game against the bottom of the league team (not justified but that’s why)

Not sure how much we got but we wanted £40m up front.

But when I say up front I mean up front as in within this financial year.

Reports were £25mil + add ons to take it to £40mil potentially (Chelsea mate said the same not an insider but fairly clued up).

I think if the rumour of £35mil rising to £50mil the other day was true we'd have signed off already.

Yeah I don't know mate just that we wanted £40m up front and didn't get it so didn't sign off.

Boo him!!!!

Booooooooooooooooooooo

Although. To be fair. Would you want to come back to a club where the fans chased you down the road banging on the sides of your car?
You could say that as a player you would increase your value by rising above that and being the star player that makes a difference to your team in their current predicament much like richarlison shown that last season for us.
