Anthony Gordon

Apologies if already mentioned but there was clear footage of him, after the game finished, clapping the away fans with his teammates, looking overjoyed and pumped. I've watched this young man from his youth team days and I have to admit I felt a mixture of sadness and anger watching him do this. I was someone very much looking forward to seeing him transition into the senior team and was delighted when it occurred. There was a time I thought he was gonna really push on but he ended up frustrating me in terms of his on-field behavior and lack of premiership football quality. Eddie Howe obviously sees something in him so I guess we will see.

I can only imagine he is not fond of Everton fans or the club for that matter in general. I think the pressure on his shoulders must've been huge for him when he showed some good form for us. I know he must've felt angry at his treatment by the fans. That sort of thing can't be nice for anyone. Such a shame though that he feels it necessary to rub it in our faces live in front of the cameras when he knows we are probably heading for the drop, especially to those of us that supported him during his youth days.

According to Wikipedia, he said the following when joining Newcastle:

On 10 March 2023, he said he had been disappointed by the curt manner that Everton announced his departure given that "I was a massive part in keeping the club up" the previous season.
