Anthony Gordon

Apologies if already mentioned but there was clear footage of him, after the game finished, clapping the away fans with his teammates, looking overjoyed and pumped. I've watched this young man from his youth team days and I have to admit I felt a mixture of sadness and anger watching him do this. I was someone very much looking forward to seeing him transition into the senior team and was delighted when it occurred. There was a time I thought he was gonna really push on but he ended up frustrating me in terms of his on-field behavior and lack of premiership football quality. Eddie Howe obviously sees something in him so I guess we will see.

I can only imagine he is not fond of Everton fans or the club for that matter in general. I think the pressure on his shoulders must've been huge for him when he showed some good form for us. I know he must've felt angry at his treatment by the fans. That sort of thing can't be nice for anyone. Such a shame though that he feels it necessary to rub it in our faces live in front of the cameras when he knows we are probably heading for the drop, especially to those of us that supported him during his youth days.

According to Wikipedia, he said the following when joining Newcastle:

On 10 March 2023, he said he had been disappointed by the curt manner that Everton announced his departure given that "I was a massive part in keeping the club up" the previous season.
Based on experience, it's probably one of those actions which, with maturity, he'll regret in later life. Or, knowing his personality, it may actually not.

I think the relationship between broke down to such an extent that the split was far from amicable, and you can see that with the parting statement by the club.

If he'd scored against us, he'd have done a Rooney and bounced in front of the Park End in adulation, which is prerogative. It's ours to treat him with disdain.

Anthony Gordon only supports Anthony Gordon.

His ego based on very little probably thinks he didn't earn the right to break into the first team, but it was owned to him.

Bet he was fuming when he went to Preston on loan and their gaffer dropped him cos his stamina is awful. It hasn't changed.

Rooney fuel was always his emotions though. He's admitted for years he shouldn't have done it but cos he was getting wound up, he played the last laugh.

Fergie didn't like him playing against us at Goodison Park. Dropped him from 2 squads too.

I thought the attack on him outside the ground was bang out of order.

He also should have shown some respect the other night. it's not all on him but who cares? He's crap anyway.

Not for me. He just got found out. The lad was already wanting to leave in summer, fell out with Lampard, dropped by November, decided to put in poor performances which added to where we are now.

Since the Bournemouth league cup game he was beyond awful. Came on against Southampton only to give a free kick away to the best taker in the league. Him and other players then got stick from a handful of fans outside the ground.

Lampard refused to play him against West Ham when we were 2.0 down. He then refused to turn up to training and forced his move out in January.

The high and mighty Skunks though will have that we're a nasty fanbase because of it. Bare in mind the abuse they gave Steve Bruce and Mike Ashley like for years.
