Anthony Gordon

Young Claires hero growing up was none other than Steven Gerrard. He chose Derby week to announce this. It seems no one was paying him enough attention.
No, I have it on strong backing that he loved Everton and bled blue until some nasty supporters chased him out of his beloved boyhood club.

Oh wait, the lads an absolute gutter rat and legged it at the first chance he could.

No doubt you need mental strength when your own ‘fans’ try and run you out of the club. Luckily for him he had years of watching our fans turn on the local players, to get prepared for it. While watching foreign players get lauded for a lot lot less.
Shut up with this utter bollocks

The little rat couldn't wait to get off. He's not mentioned the fans as the reason he wanted off in that interview, he's fairly clear that he thought he deserved better than the club.

"Neville asked: “How it ended didn’t have to be like that, the statement – I don’t even know what you would call the statement they put out – it was small. It was almost as if they were playing to the crowd, Anthony wants to leave, we have let him go, almost like they were discarding you a little bit. It didn’t have to be like that, surely?”

Gordon replied: “It didn’t. That’s the thing: a lot of what you see in the media is club-driven, and I didn’t care too much to change the perspective because I’m very comfortable in myself and how it ended up, and ultimately, I got what I wanted. I joined Newcastle.

I did want to leave, but also, the club did have to sell me. The way it played out was that I was desperate to leave and that was never really the case, I just wanted to fulfil my ambitions. But I never was bothered about wanting to change people’s minds, if they believe what they read, it’s fine by me.”

He has done exceptionally well since leaving. I personally don’t think he will ever be top tier. Not convinced he has the ability to operate in the confined spaces that the top sides have to. At Newcastle he is able to play on the counter in wide open spaces which suites him

I just wanted to fulfil my ambition.....
So Newcastle is where I went???
All very odd. He must have been forced out, why would he go to Newcastle? Must have been a stack load of readies..

He wanted Chelsea when they were interested. Spurs enquired but Kenwright didn't want to sell him and Richarlison in the same window.

Then he downed tools, mooted a move, and Lampard disciplined him. Newcastle swooped in as they were riding high in the league and he went in January while we scrapped relegation.

Gordon only takes care of Gordon. One of the bigger boys come sniffing, he'll be off again.

Very good player

But he wanted to leave.

And his performances in the weeks before he left were dreadful.

We got a good fee and it was a decent deal for the club.

With Hindsight we should have sold him the summer before because we shouldn't keep players who want to leave.
