Anthony Gordon

Linked to Liverpool for £100m lol

Probably a blag rumour but would be absolutely amazing if they signed him for that
The gobby rat will hit the ground running wherever he went. That’s most of his game that, hitting the ground whenever he runs with the ball.

I’m surprised Elon Musk doesn’t cite him as definitive proof that everything is simulation.

He's a very good player.

If you couldn't/can't see that maybe football's not for you.

Like every young player, he had a dip in form - playing for a terrible manager in a struggling team.

We didn't 'pull Newcastle's pants down', in fact the opposite is probably true.

Some of our fans are clueless.

Who dyes your hair Tony ?

I’d like to have a word with them.

He was a liability for us on the pitch. Didn't work hard enough and help out defensively. Was wasteful going forward.

He's had a good season in a team that gives him more freedom to attack and less responsibility. It's been a good move all round as we got a good feeling for him based on his performances for us.

Don't think he's good enough for a top 4 team.

Off to the rs then

He would get in Villa's and the rs teams imo

Ignore the fact it's Gordon, it clearly skews people's view.

Any player with a bit of ambition would choose Newcastle for career progression over Everton based on the turmoil of recent seasons. Newcastle are in a far stronger position than Everton who continue to circle the drain. I have no idea if Newcastle will challenge at the very top in the next couple of years but they're 100% a better option.

It's galling to type that. They're number two on my rancid list, only just behind our neighbours.

I didn't get the praise Gordon got in his time at Everton and it didn't bother me in the least when he was sold. As usual, certain sections of our support pinned their hopes on a youth player. A couple of deflected goals to boost his otherwise poor total, he went down way too easy and poor decision making. He was still hot and cold when he first went to Newcastle but you're seeing a far more consistent player this season who's contributed really well to the team.

One would hope our former Chairman (who insisted on being chief negotiator) had a sell on clause inserted in the deal but he's certainly worth a lot more than the fee he was sold for.
Based on a few seasons fine. But it is hardly a gulf between the teams. A decent young player but let's not act like he is Phil Foden or even Cole Palmer.

Of course not. I don't think I did praise him so it's a bit mental you're talking about Foden and Palmer.

At the time of the move Newcastle were (and still are) a far, FAR better option for a player looking to progress.

It was a good solution for everyone. In our position we didn't need an inexperienced wide attacker, particularly as he was pretty much the only option there and sometimes as a makeshift forward chasing scraps. His inconsistent play and the notoriously edgy Goodison crowd is a terrible place for a player at that stage of their career.

I wasn't disappointed we sold him, I'm a little disappointed the club was such a basket case he needed to play week in, week out and was expected to deliver each week.

I didn't mean that you had praised him, it just seems that either his or Newcastle's PR are pushing him fully. They act like he has gone from Southport to Milan, when the gulf is quite minor and can change quickly. I disagree with Newcastle being a Far, far better option. In one or two seasons at BMD, Everton could feasibly be above Newcastle.

We got a very good fee for the level he was at when we sold him.

Hes gone to a team that plays attacking football and hes shining, oh well, not like we had any real choice in selling him.

His sale kept the lights on and allowed us to buy players that kept us up.

Lets see how he does next season.

Agree with the first part, but it would take a calamitous set of circumstances at Newcastle for us to be above then within 3 seasons.

Anyway.... Gordon. Decent and improving.

His agent, excellent.

If they lose their last game of the season and have a bad start to next season. They will turn on Howe quickly.
