Antolin Alcaraz

Alacaraz has the potential to shackle the City defence tomorrow but I just don't think he's up to it or has the ability. I'd play Distin who at least we know is poor, but still a good player.

Distin playing 5 games in 14 days is suicide. They should have rested him after Wolfsburg and got him ready for this game. The fans wouldn't have gone mad if browning was not quite there against spurs. Alcatraz may not be match fit as Barnes and Barry have been. We are in for al one night tomorrow. Hope the lads have the stomach for a battle.

Stones's rehab is apparently going well so hopefully we will see him soon.

That said, hoping Alcaraz does well when called upon. You know, the Paraguayan Toffee bit.

(side note, a recent publication showing Paraguayans to the people rated happiest in the world included the pic of him scoring for The Albirroja against Italy in the 2010 World Cup to accompany the article... not much football joy here, the head coach was recently dumped for having a 23.08% winning percentage. )

Was hardly tested and played against a very poor quality Stoke"attack" but still did everything that was required, when fit I'd pick him ahead of Distin.

If he wasn't so injury prone or old he'd actually make a good player.

I would pick his ahead of both Jags and Distin. We look much better in possession with him and since teams just counter us the strengths of Jags and Distin are wasted especially Jags.

I liked how he actually won headers, i dont think dustbin or jags have literally won a single header over the past few matches

I loved the way he had the football, then passed it, and the ball went to an everton player. I havent seen that for ages. The other centre half was doing the same. I had to rub my eyes. All this whilst our midfield were having a game of musical statues with the music off.
