Spot on. He's an awful defender and he needs to be involved as little as possible between now and the end of the season. I wouldn't even have him on the bench in all honesty.
 

His performance in the first half hour was simply dreadful, he was in full Wigan mode.
He improved marginally second half, but along with other aging, slowing players... needs to be gone in the summer.
 
Didn't think he was that bad. Like the rest of the team dodgy inn the first half but commanded everything in the air and used the ball out the back well. Let's face it if Stones had made that backpass no one would be bothered. Alcaraz could play like Maldini but would still just take a load of abuse because the prejudice has already been set in stone against him. He's not first choice, he was free, and does a good job whenever he comes in. Really don't see what the problem is.
 

not good enough piont blank for Everton, did ok second half and the only centre back we have that is decent in the air, to be honest sooner give Distan a game , then get rid of both end of season.
 
Despite the fact that he is indeed not very good, I'd still consider giving him another year. We only have two decent CBs: Jags and Stonesy and that's it. Distin's finished and all we have left is youth players who have no Premier League experience and maybe Barry who can slot in or Besic who has played there quite a bit, but Martinez doesn't seem to experiment there with him. So centre half is definitely a position that needs fresh faces in the summer, but I just don't think we can afford more than one new player, so unless we can find any free agents, I can see Alcaraz getting a one year extension, like it or not.

I mean, we're so thin in CB that if either Stonesy or Jags got a long-term injury, we'd have a very good chance at getting relegated.

The main problem is that he's awful.

A good job whenever he comes in? My word you have low expectations of our players.
 
He's awful and hopefully leaves with Bobby in the summer! That first 30 mins my god....never seen such a poor defender for everton since the 90's.

Got marginally better second half but Kiev never threatened us or put him under any pressure. So that's no defence of him really.

Don't know what the hell has gone on with RM and Distin but he's still better than alcaraz!

Just more poor management by a poor manager.
