Antolin Alcaraz

I can't help but think this is very close to the truth. The caveat, of course, is that we now HAVE to offload Heitinga in order to free up some cash and give Duffy a shot at playing time.

We should obviously move Heitinga on but we don't HAVE too. We'v been 1 short at CB for 2yrs and subsidizing that short fall with Duffy to his detriment as he's not got the first team football for someone he should of had. Once Heitinga goes, I fully expect us to bring in another CB to replace him. The fact 3 at the back will be a option for Martinez he will definately want 4 snr cb's.

...it does surprise me when folk give Duffy so much hype and suggest we give him 'playing time'. It would be a real gamble to give somebody like him a run of 6 games against the likes of Benticke and RVP and those clamouring for him to play would be the first to complain when we lose a few on the bounce. If these kids were good enough they'd be playing.
As posted earlier, the report I received from Wigan on Friday evening is that Alcaraz is the real deal and a top drawer centre back.

I was cleaning in the underground garage in work today. Picked up a Panini sticker 'Road to Brazil 2014' The one and only Antolin Alacraz. Has to be a sign. Whether it's a good or a bad sign is anyone's guess like.

I'm just happy that the net changes have improved the squad considerably.
Mucha, Neville and Hitzelsperger have been replaced by Robles, Alcaraz, Deulofeu and Kone.

To me, that's good business and hopefully a sign of even better things to come from Mr. Martinez

A sign? I thought it was a sticker.

I agree. CB, to me, is the hardest position for a fan to gauge prospects. Its just impossible to know if someone can be a day-to-day Premier League CB until they do it.

I love your name, it's genius. Makes ms think of all the potential Korean fans out there

Good thing about him, is even though he is right footed he has a lot of experience playing on the left side of the center backs. Played the majority of his games at Beira-Mar at LCB so he should be sound if we need to play him there if Distins injured or something.

Some neat and tidy passing, as well as a few decent headers won.

We've got a pretty competitive pre-season this summer so we'll know more by the start of the season.
