I'm with Brennan. I'm not saying we should drop Distin (not yet anyway) but Alcaraz is much more suited to playing RM's system.

Exactly why he was brought over, to smooth the transition from one style to the other. Just a shame he has been hindered so far. Right mate?

also if alcaraz played jags would have an easy 'go to' pass...with jags and distin they both know they are a bit rubbish so they both try passes to midfield..or panic between them

It could work. You're an ideas man BLF and I like that. I'm so used to 4-5-1 though that I'm scared by this unconventional approach.

At first I had Barkley AND Pienaar in that position and I was like OMG AMAZING, until I realised that was 12 men.

I do quite like the idea of that formation, though, it's different. I'd like to see Mirallas and Lukaku playing practically side by side as well, they seem to have a bit of a better understanding between them than a lot of our players.

Disagree with this, based on his performance for Eng last night. His distribution was superb and proved he can do it.

I agree it hasnt been evident in his performance for the blues this year, but he is capable of playing from the back.
