Good debut seen as he hasn't played for a bit . Still need Bruno indi IN the summer to eventually replace distin. We won't need replace heitinga now

Of these only Distin is left footed so for me logically we have Stones currently as cover for Jagielka...

This leaves Distins cover as Heitinga, Duffy, Alcaraz.


I think that Heitinga and duffy will be off soon and Martinez will be looking for a young left footed centre back to replace Distin.

How long is Alcaraz's contract ?

we'll need bodies come christmas and after in the run in due to tiredness. plus if people get injured



when leighton baines came he couldn't get past nuno valente. then got a hamstring tear against fulham. Dreadful signing too?

He is probably our third or at worst fourth choice though. Duffy needs to ply his trade in the championship on loan and is doing so, Stones isnt quite there and Heitinga isnt great. He is the best combination of ball player and defender we have and was brought in to smooth the transition from one style to the other. He is an international and was on a free. All in all it made sense at the time, but as i say, he hasnt had the luck just yet.

Robles -- No idea at all...seems fine to spend a few hundred grand on a keeper with potential but I'd rather we'd get in a stopgap experienced keeper and search for a superstar new no1.

Alcaraz -- 6th centre back, of which 5 are right sided centre backs...injury prone spitter. Hopefully flog him like Lucas Neill.

Kone -- Cant trap or head the ball....still, if it meant we finally got rid of 'cheebs'...


And to think, for slating these 3 daft signings I got neg repped to oblivion :(

It would appear having read this,that just like McCarthy Alcaraz was written off by a certain section of our fan base.

I do it out of harsh love because I care about keeping the forum melt free.

And writing off players/managers before they've had a run of games for us is not GOT. So, like, pipe down yeah?
