Wasn't McCarthy's first game Chelsea? I thought he looked quite good when he came on but then I was utterly hammered.

Baines was decent as soon as he started playing. He just didn't play much because Lescott was playing so well.

The only snap decision I've got wrong so far was Jagielka but that was because he was played out of position.

I'm waiting for anyone on here to post a single scrap of proof that Kone hasn't been a complete waste of money.
 
The only snap decision I've made that has turned out to be wrong was Coleman and I can guarantee Kone is absolutely Altidore.

Give him time mate, hes only played 83 minutes in his whole career EVER, he just needs time, hes only 30, he just needs more time.

I think Kone's injury is a BIG miss for us this season...think that he has some real quality. I have a sneaking suspicion that Roberto thinks the same way...but then what would an ex Wigan manager who got relegated know, compared to the vast football nous of GOT posters.
 
He did very well yesterday, was impressed with what I saw. Alcaraz was always only ever going to be a spare part, a cover player when we had suspensions or injuries. Personally, it didn't surprise me in the least that Martinez started him yesterday. He knows and trusts him, there's a reason he made sure to bring him with him from Wigan right away.

Many people groaned when we got him and Kone, saying we were signing the players that got a team relegated. That's unfair to say. Alcaraz cost us nothing and isn't likely to be on a high wage so I always thought signing him was pretty clever. Kone though? Well that's another debate.

Happy that he's finally got himself fit and is able to play a part in the squad. If he continues to play like he did yesterday then I'd be very confident our defence will remain rock solid.

For all the laughing I do at Goat's posts about football and the amount they get ridiculed he is actually spot on 99% of the time. It's remarkable.
