Fulham set to sign Wigan left-back Antonee Robinson for £1.9m
Fulham believe they have won the race for Antonee Robinson. The 23-year old USA international is poised to join for £1.9million on a contract worth around £45,000 a week.www.dailymail.co.uk
45k p/w, probs bigger wages than I'd be willing to offer a young backup LB. Can't argue really if he goes there, more chance of game time and more money.
Will be similar profile players out there we can sign for a nominal fee and if not can always loan someone.
I think Nkounkou is starting training with the first team players from today, I’ve no idea how good he is but we signed him for a compensation fee of £200,000 and he is rated as a very good player and good things are expected off him.Exactly, in an ideal world. We have so many problem areas at the moment that we need to spend money in. LB isnt one of them. Yes Digne may get injured but thats a chance every club takes with their best players. Unlike Chelsea/City etc we cant have £30mill backups. I dont rate him that highly but he's a good young player with lots of experience and still room to improve. Ive seen him about 4-5 times since he left and he played very well, he was excellent when we played Wigan last pre season. Full of energy and goid on the ball, has excellent recovery pace too
If there was a top young prospect identified cheap or on a free then fine, but as it stands Robinson is probably the best we could get when you take fees/wages into account. As we need something inbetween Digne and Nkounkou.
I would even take him back with the intention of selling him on as its a quick profit - it makes good business sense too.
Anyone else happen to read his interview with the Echo? it's interesting. Talks not only about how we were honest about his prospects last year, but he also echoes some of the sentiments around here about how the back end of last season was basically treated as a write-off by the club (he still speaks to Coleman, amongst others)
Robinson reveals 'honest' chat that persuaded him to leave Everton
Antonee Robinson left Everton last summer for Wigan Athletic and has now been linked with a return to the clubwww.liverpoolecho.co.uk
Any sell-on clause when Everton sold him?
After selling us Alcatraz, Kone and Martinez they deserve ityes but wiped out after their harsh relegation
seems a strange signing for Fulham, aside from Mitrovic i think Joe Bryan at LB is probably their best player
