Why not actually give these players a loan move like the big clubs do that are well run?

I mean Dobbin playing 90 minutes every week in the Championship does more for his development than 5-10 minutes off the bench at Everton.
we should do now, but he'd need to sign a new deal first for that to have any point. And as it stands that doesn't look likely and given we've just brought in another winger that wasn't needed I don't blame him

News is we have signed him on loan to end of season.

We really are the pits.

Only used as a sub at Villa, and has scored one goal in 9 PL games. Eligible for Norwich, watch this space.

Meh if he goes he goes - hasn't worked out for that other dosser Theirry Small who's not in the Saints team like he thought he would be.

Why not give them a start over the decrepit donkey your man brought in to plod about the pitch?
Tbf playing Dobbin up front and knocking aimless long balls up to him to try and win headers isn't any good for his development. He's a wide forward who cuts in from the left. Unfortunately we already have three of them and have now added another one

We have the development of Gordon to lose.
I was sceptical about Gordon at first, but the lad has showed in last few appearances he has something about him, he even dragged the team on his back at times, but I would rather him be a last 30 minute sub sometimes to be a right nuisance- he’s still green as anything and will obviously be used more next season, kind of know what you mean but we can’t rely on him for next 20+ games to play 80 minutes or so in our position

Nah, not having it, the club are to blame here. Maybe not as much in the Small case but if players aren't seeing any chance of a development plan then I don't blame them. Their careers are short. All they have to do is look at the likes of Kenny, Pennington etc who spent tons of time here and never kicked on.

The club is run terribly and this is part of it.

The only way to develop is by playing. People like to talk about training and that's all well and good but the prospect of playing a full game of football is not really replicated in training.

Yeh palm off his development to someone else so we can give some crap journeyman games.
Plus he has only 5 months left in his contract and probably won't sign for that reason

How can you blame the club for our yoof players being tosh man?! lol

Last time I checked our most decent young player (Gordon) has been playing games for us this season.

You go through the top 10 sides in the PL and you'll find very few yoof players who get regular football because the demands are huge.

Our fanbase have too many Arl Da's who think PL football is akin to a kick about in the local park - the physical demands are massive mate!
