We are championship bound. If not quite this season then deffo next. El Ghazi, Longstaff, Townsend, Rondon, Patterson……it’s not even good teams dregs. We are scooping up players who crap teams don’t even want. Like the countries living standards we are in the race to the bottom.
Wrong putting this lad here, Rangers did want him, so did the fans, not his fault that Tavernier is a key player for them

Townsend played at the weekend?

He did but he also said this after the game. Just taking his comment at face value just reads as being absolutely mental too.

So it's quite possible they've noticed something in subsequent training sessions and thought they need to make a move to bring someone in on the right side?

“I knew I couldn’t shoot with my left foot, in case I did further damage..."

Reported rumour is Moshiri is the one leading the negotiation with his agent friend, Kia Joorabchian (who is also Iwobi's agent i think).
Another reported rumour is Benitez didn't want El Ghazi and had turned down 3 times. And there another rumour that there is no bid, just a loan offer. Unsure what's the true story behind it but if the past is any indication with Iwobi, El Ghazi could be Moshiri pushing for the deal.

I think if there is a bid, then I feel the funds are better used elsewhere, like to strengthen our midfield and defense.
It’s a joke if we sign him, even on loan he will probably cost 4/5mil. And he’s not starting anytime soon.

But I’m sure all over this forum and Twitter fans will be telling us to give him a chive and look at Grsy. and Dave prentice on the Echo pod, telling us how great Bill has been negotiating the deal. And prenno telling us about a game 2 years ago when he was brilliant. We all know it’s coming.

The stench of mediocrity is getting strong by the day at our club.

Don't know why we are thinking of buying this lad. I'm sure he's a half decent winger, but we have cover on the wings, and at 15M it seems a strange purchase. Surely that money would be better spent of a tricky creative midfielder, or a better quality back up striker?

I think the reluctance over El Ghazi is less about the player himself (I actually think he’s decent) but more of what he represents- owner interference and undermining of the manager. This news is very much the straw that broke the camels back. The reality is, if he came here, he’d be one of our better players
