Rafael wants young homegrown stars.
Let me introduce you to our newest U21 star - hailing from Norris Green and earning his stripes on the mean streets, it's Simon Ronder

To be honest I'd be surprised if Moshiri decided El Ghazi was a priority.

If we're in for him, I suspect Benitez thinks he can bring something out of his game - a bit like Townsend and Gray. I admit, other than his play off final goal and him doing alright against us, I couldn't tell you a lot about him - looks like the fella hit 10 league goals last season? In 28 games?

We could do with another winger - we're currently having to bring one on who has a broken foot.

If a 5 moan loan and temporary solution - what's all the cry arsing for?
This is definitely the correct term for it

You think mosh has decided he wants to spend £15 mil on anwar?

From what I understand Mosh wants high profile names and is prepared to pay for them. He pushed for Coutinho, but Rafael refused. He's now pushing for Sanchez.

I'm not sure about El Ghazi, he doesn't fall in to what Moshiri wants, but if Rafael is concerned about our options on the wing and Moshiri has found an easy solution, perhaps that is the option.

What I've heard though is Rafael wants young stars for the future who are preferably homegrown.

Um, sorry to spoil the fume. Kia Joorabchian is Sports Invest UK and Anwar el Ghazi is not their client.

El Ghazi registers Gestifute as his representatives - Jorge Mendes - is the main man there.

Hopefully this helps stops this nonsense about Moshiri wanting him, Benitez stopping it three times and murky agents whispering in owner's ears.

It's nonsense, we have plenty of valid things to fume over, kicking the tyres on a potential loan deal is not one of them.

Final point, while I am ranting, Villa are far more likely to be looking to drive a market for a player they want rid of, right now, we're the easy connection to make because of the Digne deal happening at the same time.

There was a rumour the other day that Moshiri has reached out to Mendez and wants to work with him.

I think the big issue here is that it doesn't seem like he's that much of a player and he also plays in a position where we don't need anyone, and if the rumours of Benitez not wanting him are true then that's just too many ticks in the "negative" column to make him a worthwhile signing for me, even on loan

If he wasn't amazing but was a CB or CM, and the manager wanted him, then I'd be more okay with a loan, because we need cover there

The best case scenario is that he's decent and plays well in a position where we don't need anyone, possibly at the expense of Gordon who is a homegrown lad who has really started kicking on this season, and we don't have money to spend in positions where we actually need it

The worst case scenario is that Benitez genuinely doesn't want him and signing him, even on loan, means we can't sign a player in a position where we actually need one, whilst ELG sits on the bench because Benitez doesn't want him. He becomes the new Josh King basically

Even the best case scenario doesn't seem worth it in my opinion

Maybe I'll be wrong, but this is just a head scratching decision if we have limited funds. CM and CB need covering, wing doesn't

14 goals and 1 assist in 37 games over the last 2 years for Villa. That's more prolific than any midfielder Everton have, even if some of them were penalties.

El Ghazi would definitely play ahead of Townsend, he can play in the 10 too (or Gordon or Gray could move into the middle) or they could switch in game.

At Liverpool, I know Benitez played with Kuyt on the wing who could tuck in, hold shape and be a similar sort of player, so we know he does not favour unpredictable wide players.

He is not the ideal choice but I can see why he is being looked at for not much money or loan.
And it starts lol

Can’t get a game for villa, but wouid get in our team. Townsend isn’t good enough moving forward either.

Villa fans saying he’s pants. Poor passing, crossing, decision making. Also im
Sure they where playing 433. So as a wide striker, 7/8 goals and one assist. Over a season, Not bad goals and maybe More than Townsend or Gordon, who is only 20. But one assist for somebody who plays wide should be a red flag And Gordon has more assists already.

Also we’ve seen gray in behind the striker, it hasn’t worked he’s wasted there. Nobody is going to convince me
El Ghazi will enhance our squad

Imagine last summer knowing that we'd have Lonergan, Townsend, Rondon and El Ghazi in the first team squad this season.

Townsend has largely been fine in fairness to him, but I think we've been really lucky with him. You're not going to strike gold most times when you're taking free transfers from Palace.

Lonergan, Rondon and El Ghazi wouldn't look out of place a few divisions down.
