Confirmed Signing Anwar El Ghazi

Reminds me of the summer we signed iwobi. Overloaded on the left, nobody to play on the right and we sign a man predominately playing off the left. Yes, he can play off the right but he’s terrible there. Mind you, Iwobi is also useless on the left as well.

We never learn, no wonder you’ve caught up and gone past us in the few seasons you’ve been back in the league. Shocking decisions being made.

Signed a good player in Digne btw - forced out by Rafael…another shocking decision.
I think ElGhazi is a better player than the views about him on here. He is an honest player and when playing on the left he is very good at cutting into the centre and creating an opportunity. I think he is a decent squad player but my big fear for Everton is if this is to facilitate the sale of Richy in the summer or even this window. PSG will need to replace Mbappe when he leaves in the summer. I wouldn't be relying on ElGhazi's defending qualities but if he is just a 5 month loan and is only costing the wages and a small loan fee then he isn't the worst player for the squad. The sooner u guys get your new stadium and shift a lot of the deadwood the better. It does appear there is a tight grip on the wallet at the moment. A new fresh manager that likes to play football e.g. Potter and a decent transfer kitty and getting rid of about 8 to 10 players and the future will be rosy which will coincide nicely with the majority of your neighbour's stars entering the twilight of their careers and having lost a yard or 2 of pace.

Good luck for the rest of the season

It's not irrelevant when the entire point of the discussion was @davek giving Benitez credit for negotiating the deals you plant pot.
I don't think there were any real negotiations.
Gray was happy with the standardized contract, Everton happy with the low fee. So yeah. Benitez is solely responsible for the smart business we did there. Brands only printed out the contract and gave the pen to Gray. It's irrelevant.

If you compare that to what Brands did in his tenure here... Well...

Another thing they've gotten wrong today
You didn't spot that one either.

So basically some people haven't seen him play but he's not good enough for them.
No Dave you're missing the point, it doesn't matter if he is good or bad, we have cover in the position he plays. This means we are spending money on a loan fee and wages for a player we don't need.

As money is so tight around here, that money should have been used on a loan deal for a centre back or defensive mid fielder. Not another left winger.

If that divvy never skied his pen would have been a thrilling 3-3 draw.

Pray Mina stays fit as he's the only decent CB we have at the club - he wont be letting farmers score past us 1 minute in no way man.

How do you know it would’ve finished 3-3? The game would’ve panned out completely differently. And 3-3 would’ve still been a crap result, not “thrilling” in the slightest.

HAHAHAHAHA

So now it's "There weren't any real negotiations"

Just simply admit it wasn't Benitez who negotiated the deals. @davek has gone off into hiding from this thread to avoid admitting he was wrong and now you're just blindly speculating nonsense to justify your position. It's so much easier if you just admit you were wrong and stop embarassing yourself further.

Do you also think Benitez has led the negotiations for our signings since Brands left?

Gray can be pushed inside and play a false nine. He did that in pre-season. It worked.

He deserves the credit for that one.
I don't see you blame Brands for Rondon and that fat paycheck he picks up every week.
Calm down,
Because that's not the discussion we're having. We're talking about the negotiations for transfer fees not who's decision it was to bring the players.

I do blame Brands for agreeing to bring Rondon in and give him the wage he is getting because Benitez wanted his mate here. I blame Benitez more for picking the player.
