Graced many a footy pitch with my looks and stunning Left foot
Too old now but still have a game of keepy uppy with the dog in the garden

Me Dar always used to tell me about the amateur League he played in as a youngster, playing against Brian Labone and Steve Heighway. Could have been early-mid 70's? A City fan, he would always speak with revered tones about Labone, a centre half himself it was the highlight of his footballing youth.

My advice is - keep playing as long as you can, never stop until you really really have to, which means nobody will even let you have a spec as sub.
I’m trying but had ACL op the other year and think it’s gone again as well as a bad back! Basically my best footballing years are slowly passing by, I now feel sorry for decent footballers ( I’m far from decent) who never make it or get set back through injury.

Used to, played Crosby and Southport District Leagues, once had a manager who came around the changing rooms sniffing us(Weirdo, must have been a kopite!!lollollol)he was checking who had been out the night before,I mean Sunday league!!,needless to say he didn't last long lol lol lol

....played a bit in the old Liverpool Sunday Premier League when it was full of characters and some mighty fine footballers who were getting decent money for playing on a Saturday. Many games the crowd was 2 deep around the pitch.

We get about 8 turn up to watch and the level of football in our division is not good (on pr with Everton this season)

Played Sunday league a good few years ago , Was blowing out my arse after 20 mins in most games , i made a good linesman after that lol, always remember a ref stopping me during a game to ask me to remove my fag packet and lighter from my socks , I didn't trust the lads leaving them on the touchline.

In the '70s I played in the First Division of the Kirkby & District Sunday League for The Melrose. Same time as John O'Leary played in it. He was different class altogether, and should have played at a far higher level.

Also played Saturdays in the I Zingari First Division for Stoneycroft.
Dident he play for the fantail amazing how many liverpool teams have won the sunday amateur fa national cup

Decided at the grand age of 44 to do a pre season with a local club and see how I feel. They don’t play at a very high standard so I’m hoping experience compensates for losing a yard of pace I once had. Should be fun and even if I don’t play competitively it will keep me fit training

Knocked mine on the head about 2 years ago. Decent standard. Just wasn't getting games by the end of it.

Did get wellied by a side managed by Chris Waddle (and played against him once).

Still play 5/6 a side leagues Monday Tuesday.

Was a point where I was playing Monday Tuesday, training Thursdays, playing Sundays every week for about 4 years. Proper journey man of Sunday League thinking about it. Started in Kirkby (played for The Railway next to Kirkby station), then Barnsley, Rotherham, Sheffield teams.

Probably catching up on knocking it on the head in my early teens.

Haha i had a match last season where the ref stopped running to ask if i was ok (blowing out my ars*)

Whats your training consist of? weve started taking it abit more serious but il guarantee once we get smashed a few games it will be back to everton midfield paced 5 a side

Played in goal but woke up one morning at 27 years of age after a night on the ale to realise that I was now required to throw myself about on a rock hard icy pitch where the council had placed 2” turf over a flattened pit spoil heap and shards of coal used to poke up through the mud once the season turned wet.
Played, kept a clean sheet and packed in to concentrate on my cricket which I preferred and ended up playing up to 47 years old when injury finished me off.
