Anyone play Sunday league on here?

Played loads during my teens, gave up before my 20's and it's only until I reached my 30's that I actually considered wanting to try it again.

Having said that, some Sunday leagues around Liverpool are just an absolute joke and treat it like rugby instead of footy, so it puts me off. Don't fancy my legs being snapped in two ta.

First pre season game last Sunday 4-1 loss... 3 awful new signings came on At half time to get a chance...wow it was like nyarko, Alcatraz and bakayoko
We are half way through our season here. Not much fun, getting leathered most weeks. A lot of rugby-heads in the team. They know how to kick a football but very little by way of football intelligence. Good thing is that it is all very social. Today the sun is shining, we have a 1pm ko, but will be back to our club rooms straight after we finish to watch the 2.30ko games, sit in the sun, drink beer and hurl abuse.

I used to play in the west Lancashire league on a Saturday and the local premier league on a Sunday, sometimes full of ale on the Sunday after the Saturday game.

no idea how I did it to this day!

I last played in the Merseyside Christian League on Saturday mornings, which actually had some half-decent sides once you got out of the bottom division.

Haven't had a competitive game on grass since our team folded a few years ago, although I've been lucky enough to play two charity games at Goodison in that time. I'd probably do another couple of years if any of my mates still fancied it (just turned 33), but most of them haven't kicked a ball since PE.

It's nice having two games of six-a-side on the go, though.

Were you at then?
Played for a number of years at East Coast Bays, then Te Atatu
I always looked forward to my jug of Speights

Wellington. Western Suburbs. Got spanked 6-1 but we started with 9, managed to get a couple of ring ins. I play in same team as my 18yo.
Club rooms after were best I've known in a long time. Other teams back in there, just good banter.

My left knee and right hip, (hows your luck eh?) reminded me this morning of my long and mainly unillustrative weekends on the pitches in and around Bristol.
