Only reaction I've encountered from other fans is that she and the club are full of dung, "Is that what you've been putting up with". Nothing reported prior to the game? Yet security advice was not to attend.

I get having private security etc which may have advised, but the police involvement at every football match, even more so when protests are planned etc would mean that there is high levels of communication between club and police, so to not report these allegedly serious threats to the police is a huge dereliction of duty and safeguarding failure by those in charge of safety.

I’d be very surprised if police aren’t routinely involved in risk assessing football matches anyway and the safety of those attending, including board members.

Everton's pre-prepared, and totally unnecessary statement scheduled for midday included this line;

The Board members received the instruction following malicious and unacceptably threatening correspondence received by the Club and increasing incidents of anti-social behaviour – including targeted physical aggression - at recent home matches.

To put this in a statement, again, a statement which they put out immediately prior a game to explain why they didn't wish to attend a game they have no obligation to attend... and to moments after that statement - for preferred journalists to reveal 'specifics' of that aggression moments before a peaceful fan campaign...

That "physical aggression" line dictated Evertonian reputation be dragged through the mud, wasn't considered enough to report to the police in the 12+ days;



In my own opinion - there's no coming back from this for that Everton board. They attacked their own fans.
