There's an entirely conceivable scenario where she made the judgment that pressing charges was over-the-top (or that it would cause more harm than good), and someone else entirely witnessed and leaked it without her consent.Unless she wanted to play it down mate and no have police involvement.
See this would be the logical case but if they had any self respect they'd be straight out afterwards to clarify this remark, instead they use it to their advantage to play the victim.Could be that the headlock term was sloppily described by a source feeding it to the media who’ve loved the drama of it and ran with it wildly. Who knows? I’ll just hold back on abusing the alleged female victim until it becomes clearer.
Aye this. We should probably just wait and see and be a little kinder. The club will have to put a statement out on it you’d think. There's an entirely conceivable scenario where she made the judgment that pressing charges was over-the-top (or that it would cause more harm than good), and someone else entirely witnessed and leaked it without her consent.
There are so many possible scenarios given the absence of information.
But that doesn't stop the blind, loud certainty from many that it's definitely not true.
Until it then suited their needs to leak it?Unless she wanted to play it down mate and no have police involvement.
Aye fair points mate.See this would be the logical case but if they had any self respect they'd be straight out afterwards to clarify this remark, instead they use it to their advantage to play the victim.
I'll put it this way, I 100% don't believe this altercation ever took place, let's say I'm wrong though, not only did nobody see it, not only was it not reported to the police but it was only leaked out hours before a pivotal game in attempt to smear a protest. Whether it happened or not, which it didn't, it's clear what the aim was in releasing it.
It would be incredibly easy for the club to debunk these stories while still claiming that they felt intimidated, it would be incredibly easy for them to come out and claim it was an isolated incident, it would be incredibly easy for them to say things got heated but they understand why even if the outcome was unacceptable, they haven't done any of these things though and they've allowed horrible rags and news shows run with the narrative that the fans that they are meant to represent are violent thugs simply because they are looking out for their own interests not the club's.
I think now we have a police statement, clarity from the club is required.Aye this. We should probably just wait and see and be a little kinder. The club will have to put a statement out on it you’d think.
Aye again fair points. The leak and the timing of it to slur the protesting fans was really crappy.Until it then suited their needs to leak it?
I don’t get the end goal of it all. If you want to play it down and don’t include the police, you don’t also leak it to the press after releasing a statement like the one they did. That’s only going to go one way.
No idea if it happened or not, I hope not because it’s disgusting if it did, and it needs clarified by the club/police. Either way, the communication and transparency from the club has been appalling (which has been an issue for years).
But it also doesn’t change the fact that they aren’t good at running a football club and are in positions that from the outside, they don’t seem qualified or suited for.
Aye thinking the exact same mate.I think now we have a police statement, clarity from the club is required.
Aint that the truth (specific to the pitch)We can't be having physical aggression at Goodison.
