Amazingly it seems to be the only incident not captured on someone’s phone.

Specular coincidence.
Actually my brother seen something like that being attempted outside the main stand and walked some young lads bystanding away from it.
As for the rest of it the headlock etc nah pure dung from the club to smear their own fans.

Could be that the headlock term was sloppily described by a source feeding it to the media who’ve loved the drama of it and ran with it wildly. Who knows? I’ll just hold back on abusing the alleged female victim until it becomes clearer.

But surely the club has an onus to correct the record, if it's not true?

I mean, I'm almost certain the press would have asked the club for comment.

If someone has exagerrated/lied they should amend the record. That's the decent thing to do.

Yes the club should clear it up mate and probably will now the police have made their statement. The club are inept, we all know this.

The whole thing is surreal. Threats of violence and intimidation and a headlock on the CEO yet no one at the club felt it was necessary to involve the police. Given the gravity of the claims I find it amazing.

We as a fanbase deserve the right to know exactly what is going on here. Are we being completely mugged off or did these things genuinely happen? If they didn't then the board sunk lower than anyone could have thought they would.

Utterly appalling this from Everton. To make those baseless allegations, and for the police to come out and completely contradict them, leaves them with a lot of explaining to do. Surely the national media will now also come out and apologise for running with the stories of alleged aggression towards the board, right? Right?

No, I'm not. I'm assuming the CEO was aware that the statement involving an incident she was involved in. That's a fair assumption, no?

You're making the assumption that this claim was put out without her knowledge which as far as I can tell us based on nothing other than you wanting to believe that.
We don't know either way, though. The club has a responsibility to clear that up. If she knew and was part of the story being leaked, it is bad and you would expect her to release the statement (through official club channels). I would hope she wouldn't be so careless and callous to put out such a damaging story if it wasn't true, so I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt.

I also have doubts that a journo would have direct access to the CEO and then refer to them as an unnamed source, although I am happy to be corrected.

What kind of mentality do people have who set out to smear their own fans? Never known anything like it.

A journo like our director of comms Dave Prentice?

correct the record? they cant even sort away tickets correctly.
ask bill for comment? you'd end up stuck with a review of technicolor dreamcoat.
decent thing to do? this club? the club that put benitez in? against all sides wishes?

Sometimes faith can be as dangerous as none. These toads are out for all they can get at the cost of the club and its supporters. This isn't Everton, this isn't even them over the way under hicks and gilette.

Shambles!

From that thing going around about someone overzealously putting their arm around her I could defo believe that.

Make no mistake though, the "source from within the club" described it as a headlock to vilify fans and garner sympathy for the board.

Might well be the case. I would still hope a female ceo wouldn't falsely use claims of assault and misogynist abuse just to undermine a fanbase. The truth may come out, or it may not but that is the worst of all the scenarios and would be absolutely sickening.
